Nation Under God

Columbus sailed on the globe so round,
And planted a cross on the land he found.

The Pilgrims landed on Plymouth's shore,
And thanked their Dear God for his bounteous store.

In Jamestown fort the church was first,
It gave them the courage to weather the worst.

In Franklin's town the deed was signed,
The founding fathers were all of one mind.

At Valley Forge he prayed in the snow,
George Washington bore the Englishmen's blow.

A nation was born with a Christian base,
And a strong look of pride on everyone's face.

Abe Lincoln stood like a mountain tall,
To keep our dear country from imminent fall.

John Pershing once stood by a grave in France,
And rallied the troops for the final advance.

Pearl Harbor was bombed on that infamous day,
But true to our colors we had the last say.

But what of our future will we rot out or rust?
No way! Just remember "In God is our Trust".

Thanks, Herman!
