Just for playing around, and of course for its good
looks, my friend and me couldn't pass this (left) one standing in a window for
sale... Having one, we needed to get another or risk starting a fight which one of us gets
to ride while the other one has to watch and wait ;-)
Find more about these beautiful
trial bikes on Hondas Classic Trial.
Meanwhile we both intend to do some more serious trail riding on those bikes, for example in Romania: the EnduRoMania
offers just this kind of trail riding.
Some modification for this purpose are:
- harder the shock absorbers and forks: more and stronger oil in front forks, spacers in both front and rear shocks
- a small home made luggage rack (for a gas can)
- tool boxes for minimal tools
- hand protectors, cheap and smaller flashers
- spacers under the front fender to get more room for mud
- electric plug (for GPS) on one of them
- eliminate the battery on the other, since it shakes off the battery box
The trial tyres turned out to be not as bad as I had expected: fairly good on mud, even without lowering the air pressure (who wants to spend their time pumping them up again?).
They are slippery on stoney steep paths, though.
