Since 1988 STS MIR has been taking part in international races of sail training ships. She is a winner of prizes of prestigious regattas: "Cutty Sark Tall Ship's Races", "International Hochseerase Seestadt", "Grand Regatta Columbus 92". In the long history of regattas the MIR is the only class A sailing ship which has twice won all-round first place.
