Prisoners of Everyday
Walking by without reaction
As the rain keeps falling, falling, falling, falling
On this sorry sight
But I won’t be like them,
Like leaves that fly away with the wind.
Somewhere - there’s a place where all our troubles end
And where all our time is well and wisely spent.
But you just sit and wait for God
Inside your prison walls
And all you’re reaching isn’t more
Than just some desperate calls in your head.
I won’t be like you, like them,
Like ships that drift away in the dark.
Isn’t it strange - our lives are wasted
Just when we start to understand ?
Isn’t it strange - our dreams are bursting
Just because we keep them in our hands.
Somehow - we’ll be freed of deep-down lurking fears
And there - will laughter for all our shattered tears
But you keep waiting for your chance
To see that other day
These growing calls rage in your head
And you feel, what they say could be true.
And if I had the chance to be
To distant places
Maybe I’d stop because I’d see
Why I had been asking:
Isn’t it strange - our lives are wasted . . .
Prisoners of Everyday
Fooled and caught by regulations
Blinded by an endless stream of mind-distracting
Information
Time and patience are the mortar of your walls
Your will and your strength are the essence of it all
But you prefer to stay inside
Your self-made prison walls
And you’re inclined to just ignore
Those raging desperate calls in your head.
And if I had the chance to be
To distant places
Maybe I’d stop because I’d see
Why I had been asking:
Isn’t it strange - our lives are wasted . . .
I - I wanna be far away
I don’t know where but I can’t stay
Take me with you into the light
Let me forget what’s wrong and right
I wanna be far from here
Where fear is hope and hope is fear
Take me with you - I’m on my way
It’s my Escape from Everyday.
I wanna be far away
I don’t know where but I can’t stay
Take me with you into the light
Let me forget what’s wrong and right
I wanna be far from here
Where fear is hope and hope is fear
Take me with you - I’m on my way
It’s my Escape from Every . . .
Day and
Night and
All that’s
Right and
Wrong and
You and
Me I
See that
I won’t
Be like
Leaves that
Fly like
Ships that
Drift I’ll
Shift my
View I’ll
Be with
You I’ll
Live my
Life, All
That I
Strive for
Will be
