The DeafTV programs on Channel 31 are silent, signed in Auslan and fully captioned.
It is FOR Deaf people, for the comfort of watching their own Deaf community programs.
Because Channel 31 is a Melbourne Community Television group, most areas in Victoria and Melbourne metropolitan areas receive the reception on televisions.
We are aware that the broadcasting reception quality is poor, and can only be very clear on televisions in few areas in Melbourne like St Kilda, Prahran, Bayswater and more. Even some areas in Ballarat has good Channel 31 reception.

Please remember that it is very cheap for DeafTV to broadcast programs on Channel 31. We are lucky to get a broadcasting station!

We hope that in the near future DeafTV will be broadcasting on Australia’s television stations like SBS, ABC, Channel 7, 9 or 10.

However, DeafTV do have DeafTV programs on VHS video tapes for sale. You will need to contact DeafTV to arrange for a form to be sent to you.

- it was a big surprise for the Deaf community to watch the first program and a ‘continuing’ announcement stated that there was another program the same time next week. This made many members of the Deaf community so excited.

All the feedback poured in on our mobile phones, emails and words of mouth plus at Channel 31 studio! This made many members excited we had a re-run of the very first program on 20th & 27th January 2003.
