Submission Guidelines

Our submission process is relatively simple. As far as we know, we are the first and only art gallery that doesn't accept slides. We despise the whole system of slides as the basic currency of gallery-artist interaction. Who even owns a slide projector these days?? We certainly don't. The best way to submit your works is to put them on a web page and send us the URL (Geocities and Tripod offer free ones... be sure and put the pics on an actual page - don't just upload them to the server, because neither Geocities nor Tripod allow direct hotlinking to a jpg... if you have no idea what we're talking about, e-mail us). Do not e-mail pics, or any other kind of attachments, for that matter. We'll delete them without opening them. The second best way is to s-mail us color photocopies or color computer-printed images of your work. The mailing address is Deatrick Gallery, 1661 Story Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206. If you live close enough to drive here to show us your works in person, that is perfectly acceptable, provided you contact us first and make an appointment. Whichever method you choose, be sure to include as much background information as possible, such as your resume, bio, press clippings, statements, and anything else we might want to know. Don't be afraid of dumping too much information on us - the more about yourself and your art you can tell us, the better. Don't be discouraged if we don't reply immediately, and if nothing arises from your submission right off the bat. We have even less time and space than most galleries, and local artists will always get our closest attention. Still, we welcome submissions from all over the globe.
