1993 brought my separation from the Catholic Church, following a series of very negative experiences with local priests. It also began a period of unemployment, and a move to a tiny, rustic house in the village of Putney, Vermont, where many of my ancestors lived. Interestingly enough, I did not write any poetry that year.
