Oh, my children,
How I cry for you!
You, who I trusted
To care for me
As I grow older.
I hopedyou were
Mature enough
To get along.
How many times
Must I see you
Destroy yourselves?
How many times
Must I feel you
Destroy a part of me?
Poor, misguided children,
How did I fail you?
I was a good parent.
I have fed you
And sheltered you
Since your birth -
Since the beginning.
Oh, my children,
When will you grow up?

For Suzanne Ryan - you gave us Barry, and Barry's writing inspired this - you are an inspiration unto yourself.
