A chance encounter at festival time
Brought two strangers together.
Two strangers met and found comfort
In each others' embraces.
We should have known it could not last
For we are very different.
Caught up by festival we foolishly thought
Physical love could last.
I am grateful that it has ended
And we can still be friends.
We both have grown wiser and stronger
After the folly of festival.

For Bill Shambo.
