Fatal Flaw

An innocent meeting of total strangers
Led me again to heartbreak.
I should have learned through the years
That my heart has a fatal flaw.
I love too quickly, and so I loved you
Before I knew who you are.
You tried to control me and mold my being
Into your image of who I am.
I will not be broken again in my life;
I am myself forever.
You cannot change me for your purpose;
I have become who I really am.
