The stars twinkle in the velvet darkness.
The wind riffles gently among emerald leaves.
Dew forms chill on tender grasses.
As love's laughter rings sweetly through the air.
Midnight's darkness, warm and sheltering,
Offers sweet solace to lovers' yearnings.
Dark prints paired side by side in wet grasses,
Hands held tight with love and longing.
Sweet caress of soft words spoken
Brings roseate splendor to features fair.
Morning's light of truth and knowledge
Holds no sway where love is in the air.

For Dave and Rachel.
