God gave us a rainbow
Of living colours, so bright.
God gave us a rainbow
As a feast for human sight.
A rainbow which sleeps as we do
Through the dark, dark night.
God gave us a rainbow,
His most glorious work of art.
God gave us a rainbow
That touches the human heart.
He made this rainbow of flowers
From the Earth which He did make.
He made the colours dazzling.
He made tender petals, too.
When God gave us a rainbow
He had quite a job to do.
For the rainbow was to be lovely,
To top all else He had made.
God gave us flowers
Of unimaginable shades.
