Fall, 1983

The greatst of knights,
Save only his son,
In many strange armours,
Great battles hath won.
The greatest of men,
Both courteous and strong,
Remained true to his lady,
For all his life long.
Most famous of knights,
Romantic in lore,
For love and for chivalry,
Known evermore.
Most gracious of knights,
Most honourable, too,
In legend and story,
Known to me and to you.
Gentlest of knights,
Treated with scorn,
Of his true love, Gwenevere,
Many pains hath he borne.

For David Beriau with thanks and best wishes.
