Strange and brutal,
But very real,
Our friendship lives forever.
We can't converse,
We never trust,
We're cruel in all our dealings.
I trusted you,
And told you much,
And suffer now betrayal.
You are cruel,
And brutal, too,
But I'm not the only victim.
I, too, am cruel,
To you I'm hateful,
And still the bond continues.
We cannot stand
Each other's look,
But our eyes ever stray together.
Someday it must
Be changed for us,
But will the bond be broken?
We've learned to hate
In spite of selves,
Someday we must be honest.
I tried to be
Both kind and true,
But when I did you spurned me.
So I turned cruel,
I turned on you,
And then you seemed to like me.
At first we tested
Each other's strength,
Now we try to break it.
How can it last,
How can it stay,
With trust gone nonexistent?
We cannot trust,
We cannot care,
But each cares for the other.
You've wished me dead,
And I've returned it,
For it is all too painful.
Curse our friendship,
And curse you;
Our friendship is too brutal.
We've broken trust,
We've broken faith,
The bond must soon be broken.
But strange and brutal,
Very real,
Our friendship lives forever.
