My soul brother
And my thought mate
Are opposing forces
In the game of life.
My soul brother
And my thought mate:
Equally are strong,
And equally are weak.
My soul brother
And my thought mate:
I love them both,
And am loved by neither.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
Are ever friends -
The Inseperables.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
See me as a friend,
And as nothing else.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
Are forever clear,
And, yet, enigmas.
My soul brother
And my thought mate:
Perhaps I should see them
Only as friends.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
Do not know my feelings -
My only secrets.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
Know my soul and my mind,
But my heart is hidden.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
Love both another -
My dearest friend.
My soul brother
And my thought mate:
To one I am sister,
The other a friend.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
In my heart are different,
In my mind are same.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
May one day see
My deepest thoughts.
My thought mate, even,
Cannot see them,
For they are deeper
Than my mind.
My soul brother
Still cannot see them;
They are deeper
Than my soul.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
Cannot delve
To the thoughts of my heart.
My soul brother
And my thought mate,
Deep though I love them,
Are not the closest.
My heart sister
And my own conscience
Alone can see
The thoughts of my heart.
My heart sister
And my own conscience
Know the secrets
I can admit.
My heart sister
And my own conscience
I always know
I can trust.
My heart sister
And my own conscience
Can trust me
To care and help.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
Have trusted me
And I've trusted them.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
Placed faith in me
And I failed them.
My heart sister
And my own conscience
Found the answers
To the problem.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
Received my penance
And forgave me.
My soul brother
And my thought mate:
Bonded to me
For eternities.
My soul brother
And my thought mate
Are opposing forces
In the game of life.
My soul brother
And my thought mate:
I'll never again
Betray their trust.
My heart sister
And my own conscience:
Loved forever,
But now placed second.
My soul brother
And my thought mate:
Forever players
In my game of life.

Dedicated to Jon Endres, Ralph Brown, and Carrie Fabricius, with love.
