So much alike,
Drawn together -
Catastrophe -
Thrown apart.
Hopes and desires,
Passions and fears -
Catastrophe -
Suddenly different.
Caring and friendship,
Drawing us close -
Catastrophe -
Hearts torn apart.
Apologizing,
Working to mend -
Catastrophe -
Broken trust.
Keeping love out,
Caution in friendship -
Catastrophe -
All chance is gone.
Please forgive me,
Please return,
Let no catastrophe
Destroy the future.
Broken faith,
But on the mend -
Another catastrophe -
Again cast apart.
Now I am trying,
Now I come begging,
I ask the returning
Of all that we had.
So much alike,
Drawn together,
Somehow different,
Trying for friendship.
Catastrophe struck
And I was lost;
Catastrophe struck
And I lost many.
I lost you,
I lost the group,
I lost many people,
Including myself.
Now I laugh
To hide my crying,
I used to laugh
When I was glad.
You broke my heart,
You broke my spirit,
You tossed friendship
To the wind.
I tried forgiving,
I tried hoping,
Now I find
That all is vain.
Now I swear
That you never will
Cause me again
To shed sadness' tears.
You never again
Can harm my spirit,
Never more
Can you wound my heart.
So much alike,
Drawn together,
Thrown apart
For the good of all.
