Darkling child of darker night,
Use thy song in hope to bring
Saviors to the world of light
To crush the evil that you sing.
Darkling child born of hope,
Thou art touched by evil power;
Strength of love will help you cope
In this darkest, magic hour.
Darkling child with evil springing
From your young, unmindful voice,
Stop the evil of your singing
And sing the good that is your choice.
Darkling child turned to good,
Return you to your Southland home;
Tread you careful through the wood,
And magic truth to men must come.
Darkling child of my life,
Yours is power born of old,
But never more shall magicked strife
Come to the world, for so 'tis told.

For Ralph, Jon, and Edward - my own Druids.
