Meditation and Reflection on:Bible Reading & Meditation
Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to what he was saying. But Martha was distracted by her many tasks; so she came to him and asked, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her than to help me." But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her. ReflectionWait on the Lord...take deep breaths...inhaling the goodness of God and exhaling the pressure and stress of your day. Open your heart fully and allow the Lord Jesus Christ to enter. Talk with Him. Jesus, I am afraid that I am like Martha. My mind is cluttered with the world and I am so busy trying to handle everything by myself...with no help. I forget that You are here for me. Help me to be like Mary. Let me learn to sit quietly at your feet and to listen to what you are saying to me. Help me to realize that You and only You are the one who is in control of my life. ![]() Prayer FocusFather in Heaven, thank you for always being there for me...even during times that I am not willing to give up myself. Father...help me to learn to be more like Martha's sister Mary. Let me learn to sit at your feet all of my days and listen to what you are saying to me. Help me to take away the world's distractions and help me to learn to focus on your goodness and strength. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, My Savior! Amen.
