Let me start with last last week… Yeah, far back. Well, I have been in a really intense spiritual battle. Satan was constantly tempting me to sin. But I DECIDED not to succumb to him. I quickly held onto God and asked Him to help me. I knew resisting the devil on my own would be impossible, given that I’m only human and that my nature is to sin. So I called on the Lord, the only one I knew who could help me. I asked in Jesus’ name for strength. This went on for two weeks. During this time I came to a point where I realized that maybe, Satan was doing this to me because he knew I was being closer to God. He wouldn’t care tempting me too much if he was sure that he already had me. Makes sense. Why bother getting something that you already have? Of course you’d want something that you DON'T have. That’s Satan’s job. Steal us away from God’s love…

           But because of God, I remained steadfast. I refused to give in and commanded Satan and his demons to go away. I realized that God must be allowing this to train me and mold me into a better Christian. So I held on.

           I was alone one time when I came to a quiet epiphany. I saw the big picture of what was happening to me for the past weeks. These were my words then: “You have no power over me Satan. You may have power, but my God is powerful and stronger than you. He has given me the authority to trample on you. My God is greater than you. There is nothing you can do to hurt me. My God has given me all the power to trample on you and I trample on you right now. I am already victorious in my God. I am already a conqueror. In Jesus’ name.”

           I felt the power of the Spirit when I was saying that. I felt the power and authority that God had given me. It was amazing.

           Then just last week, Friday… We had our Bible study at Tito Ed’s place as usual. There were so many times I wanted to comment and speak, but there was something always holding me back. I realized God wanted to teach me patience. To hold my tongue. To wait for the time when He wanted me to speak. I did have my time to speak. Hehe. Well, the real story there last Friday was when we got home. I was already on my bed, about to sleep. But then, stuff were coming into my head I decided to quickly write them down. This is what I wrote:

Lord… I want persecution. So I can be stronger I You. So I will depend only on You. Make me weak so that You will be strong in me.
Use me in small things. I n things that people don’t even notice. So I may learn humility. So I will not boast. So that I may be faithful in greater things.
Teach me to hold my tongue and wait on You before I open my mouth.
Create in me a pure heart. One that you would call like your own.
Teach me to love you more and more that I sacrifice everything to please You alone. Let me not care about man, but as I do these things, I want to be a living testimony—a mirror of Your face.
Amen.

           I praying and I was asking God to change me. Suddenly, tears started flooding my cheeks. I said I was tired of the mediocrity. In church, in school, in my household chores, in sharing His Word to everyone… I wanted to be excellent. If I was going to live for Him, I wanted to be excellent in everything. To do the very best for Him. And I asked Him to change my heart. So I could be more like Him. Like what He had always wanted me to be.

           I don’t claim to be perfect, because I’m not. Of course, I’ve still had my faults. But it’s all because of God, who enables me to be more like Him.

           Let me end with challenging all the Christians out there to just realize how much power you have. You’ve already been set free. You have been freed from sin! Your chains were already broken. And there is no reason for Satan to hold you down. More than anything, there is absolutely NO REASON for you to ALLOW SATAN TO HOLD YOU DOWN, because God already died for you. And He is ALIVE in your heart!!! Don’t forget that. Be excellent in everything you do, and do it everything for His glory. I challenge you to not be afraid to let everyone know that you live for Christ. Let your lives be living testimonies with hearts burning for passion to share God’s Word and love for all those around you.

           And to those who want to have the same power God offers, you can have it too. If you want to be free from sin, you can be. If you feel helpless and it’s as if everything has already closed around you… You can have the freedom and hope as well. If you feel that you’ve been too bad that God wouldn’t even care about you, that’s not true. The reason God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, is because He loves you so much. He sent Jesus Christ here on earth to die for you. It was the greatest sacrifice. He loves you and there is nothing you can do that will take away that love. If you want that same love in your life, you can have it too. It’s a free gift and all you have to do is accept it. All you have to do is to believe that Jesus Christ died for you.

           “For God so loved the world [your name], that He gave His only begotten son [Jesus Christ], that if [your name] believes on Him, he [your name] should not die, but have EVERLASTING LIFE.” John 3:16

           This is a PROMISE. And unlike the popular saying, this promise was not made to be broken. If you think that there’s something tugging at your heart right now, it must be God talking to you, asking you to open you heart to Him so he can come in and change your life for the better, to set you free, and to give you brand new hope that can never be shattered. I can’t see you, but God does. So I invite you to say this simple prayer:

Dear Lord, Jesus… I know that I am a sinner and that I’ve done a lot of wrong things. But now I want to turn away from all of that and I want to be set free. I believe that You came here to die for me, and I accept this gift. I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for dying on the cross for me.
In, Jesus’ Name, Amen.

           Now that you’ve said this prayer, you’re now in God’s family! Welcome!!! You’ve now been born again! Your name has just been written in the book of life. This doesn’t end here. Now that you’ve taken the stand to live for Christ, Satan will work double time to steal you back and make you return to your old self. But this is what God promised and gave to you. You have the power over the devil. Do not let him beat you. Because God is stronger than he is and Jesus Christ lives in you now.

           If you buy a mobile phone, a microwave, or a television, they come with a manual right? So you know how to use them. Same with our life. God gave us the Bible to be the manual of our lives. It’s also His love letter to us, and also our weapon against Satan. And it also contains all the truths you want to know. So read it everyday and seek His Word. Don’t forget to share this experience with others! Your friends, loved ones, and even people you don’t know! Share God’s amazing love. We’re all called to do this!
