Season Three "Movie References" Episode Reviews
Ever notice how much Angel plot lines are like some movie plot lines? I did. I thought I'd give this topic a whirl. A little late in the season mind you, but let's not forget the treatise on Season Three is Crap That'll explain alot about this year and the lack of updates 'round here. No Cordy. She's in Mexico with Grooselag. That sucks. What if we WANT to see them?
That being said, comic relief is non-existent in this episode, which is just as well, because Connor is gone, Wes is missing, everyone is worried to bits and Angel is being a major asshole throughout. I don't really blame him, I guess. Basically, last episode, Holtz took Connor to the Cortoth dimension. Lorne says there's no portal there, the only way there is to go through this demon Sajan. Lilah and Angel end up in the "white room" of Wolfram and Hart's where there is a little girl in a plaid skirt and cute little sweater with butterfly collar who's a megabitch. Ok, if you saw "Resident Evil" like I did, you're going to wonder what's with the horror references and little girls. Little girls CAN be scary, but are they THAT scary? I am not scared by them. Maybe it goes all the way back to "The Exorcist". She gives Angel this handkerchief square or whatever and tells him about the legend of Sajan. Believe me, it's less interesting than the "Legend of Billie Jean". Wasn't Christian Slater the cutest in that movie? Anyway, Sajan comes back and whatever, Angel is pissed beyond words at Wes once they finally find him in the hospital. How he didn't die is beyond me. Angel tries to smother him with his pillow for taking Connor. That scene is in like, every horror movie since the beginning of time. Then again, the only one that actually comes to mind is the scene in "Sleeping with the Enemy"when the big bad husband goes to Julia Big Mouth's mom(or grandma?) and tries to pretend he's her and then smothers her with a pillow.
