Opinion on warnings

I don't believe in maturity being judged by age. I don't believe in warnings when it comes to literature. I would never read a book that says 'parental guidence needed'. I would never buy a book that states an age limit. Books don't come with a ''keep away from 15 years old youngsters '' tag. Why should fanfics? What's all this about 'watch out, it has this and that, stay away if you don't like certain kind of charas, blah, blah, blah... ''?. Would someone tell off Lawrence because I've read Lady Chatterley's Lover when I was 12? Reading The Red Pony when I was 7 or A Fairy Tale in New York when I was 11 are somehow things that I shouldn't have done? Or reading The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings on yearly basis could be consider 'childish' because some people cathegorize them as 11 + books?

It should be enough with a short blurb to prepare readers to what they might expect. It is always so. Why things became so prudish on the net when they are different in RL is something that I will never be able to understand.

There is one cathegory that I will use, though. The Children's Story. Of course, not in the meaning of a story being meant to be read only by children, or a story that could be considered 'childish', but as a story that was written for children, even when later adults might enjoy it as much, or even more, than kids (I am obsessed with Tolkien's Roverandom, for example ^_^).

Why do I write all this? Because I want to leave clear that TFoaG is not a children's story. I am not writing it for my five years old cousin. I am writing it for myself, because I have the need, the urge, to tell this story. I will not state what kind of scenes it contains, or what kind of language I use. That's for someone commenting on this fic to do, not to me. I write what I want to tell in the way I want to tell it. That's all there is to it.

TIMELINE / AGES

Before the purists out there jump at my throat, I would like to take a stand. I absolutely did take some liberties regarding the StS timeline, mainly because I am taking into account both Abel’s and Eris’ movies, and somehow it didn’t seem possible that during so many battles, hospital stays and things like that, not even a year would pass. Sooooooooo... I extended the period from the Galaxian Wars to the beginning of The Fall of a Goddess to four years (which I guess is pretty clear in the story, but just for the sake of making things clearer and writing a little bit ^_^U...).

Because I also felt I would need some charas to be a tad older, I added a year to their ‘usual ages’ (yes, heresy! Fear change, for it brings doom with it! ^_~)

So, here are the timeline/ages table. If you want to flame me about any of this, now you have all the info you need here ^_^ (aren't I sweet? ^_~):
