A Father's Day Prayer

Written for my husband Kennedy
I said a prayer for you today,
And I know God must have heard;
For I felt the answer deep in my heart.
Although he spoke no special word.
I didn't ask for power,wealth nor fame;
Baby,I knew you wouldn't mind,
I asked for blessings and to you
treasures of a far more lasting kind.
First, I asked God to stay near you
at the start of each new day.
Then I asked him to grant you wisdom,
Good health and blessings with relatives
and friends to share things your way!
I asked God to keep you happy,
In all things may they be great or small,
To keep you in his loving care.
This, I prayed for most of all!!
