Climax Cave is an intresting cave that I had the opportunity to visit on a recent trip to Kentucky. Climax has everything from booming open passage, to a maze of solution tubes,to tight belly crawls. I did the through trip-in one entrance and out the other, then did it again. I noticed that the cave is significantly warmer than the caves here in the northeast. (probably due to overall surface Climate)
Climax Cave has many different formations throughout, ranging from dry rimstone pools to active ones, to columns reaching from floor to ceiling, to flowstone dribbling down tiny cracks. If you visit this cave, please take the time to clean up after others who do not respect the diverse life within the cave. And of course, sign the register. |
