From the Master's plans our faithful brothers made the foundation for our Lodge. The materials came from our mother earth and hands formed the building using the Master's design. Today we still have the foundation, though the bricks are faded with age many are still strong and useful. The sand that was mixed with the cement is still present however what happened to the cement? Something must have gone wrong with the cement for we see the results of the sand. The sand is in small piles and the cement is no longer visible. From our mother earth we came and thus we must go. Like the deep-rooted shrub that came loose with just a small pull, Is the hope of starting again still visible? It is now time to look for more bricks to replace the ones that are now old and crumbly. As the search continues to find strong bricks hope is always there but results are low. What will happen when there are "No More Bricks?" Our Master gave us the plans to plant the seeds. He sent the water to nourish the seeds and the ground for the foundation and gave us the tools to work the land. He gave us everything needed for a good crop. What have we given back to him? Nothing! Who will take the challenge to plant those seeds again if YOU are not there? Is it too late for you to help again with the cement? Many Lodges today have plenty of sand and no cement. Will you become a Brick? The challenge is present and your lodge needs your presence to be a Brick. Will you come and answer this call? If not then sit back and continue to see the effects of the drought we are all in together. If you have questions on how to serve please call the secretary. As UNCLE SAM SAID "I WANT YOU!" Mickey Harber, Master 2008 |
