OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER...
Brethren,
Our First Stated Meeting for 2002 was a good one. We had a significant increase in members present, however our goal is to have a 100% increase at the Stated Meetings by the end of the first quarter. Most of our Committee Chairmen had positive reports for us and are rallying their members for their specific cause.
We had our first Fish Bowl Drawing and due to an error on my part, I drew Brother Russell Santee’s name as our first winner. Brother Santee died last year, but his name was still in the Fish Bowl. The next name drawn was Brother William Speros. Brother Speros was not present to win the $50 cash prize, so the $50 will roll over to the February Stated Meeting making the Fish Bowl Drawing worth $100. In our Stated Meeting Dinner Drawing Brother Don Brown won the Grand Prize which was a $50 Gift Certificate to Wolf Chase Mall. Other drawing winners were Riva Brown, Rick Perkins, and Jack Downs. Our Grand Prize for the February 7th Stated Meeting Dinner Drawing will be a $50 Gift Certificate to the Oak Court Mall. Everyone present at the Stated Meeting was able to put a ticket in the box for the Grand Prize Drawing in December. The more times you attend the Stated Meeting the more chances you will have to win.
We are trying to get our spouses involved during 2002 and in doing so we have lined up a Manicure and Pedicurist to come and talk to our Ladies at the next Stated Meeting Dinner. She will answer any questions the Ladies might have and give miniature manicures. I’m not sure what that means, but I’m sure the Ladies do. Ladies please attend and give us feedback on what you would like to have or do during the Stated Meeting Dinner while we are upstairs conducting business.
Also our Dinner Menu for the February Stated Meeting is meat loaf with an assortment of vegetables and deserts. If you would like to participate and bring something, please contact the Junior Warden Dennis Pope at 483-6111. If you can not reach Brother Pope please call the Secretary or myself.

Our Annual Valentine’s Dinner will be on Saturday, February 9th at 7:00 PM. We will have a photographer on hand to take pictures of our couples, and we plan to have a surprise presentation to one of our outstanding Ladies. She doesn’t know about it yet! We will also play Bingo after the dinner and presentation. Please get your reservations in as soon as possible by calling the Secretary or myself; you will not get another bulletin before the deadline. We cannot accept reservations after Tuesday, February 5th, 2002. |

It seems quite early to be talking about the Grand Lodge, however it is just around the corner. If you plan on attending the Grand Lodge this year on March 26, 27 and 28 please contact the Secretary or Worshipful Master as soon as possible. We are making the necessary reservations at this time and we can not take reservations after Thursday, February 7th, 2002.

Are your Lodge Dues current? If not, please remit $20 today. We are trying desperately to update our database with current member’s information. If you receive a Dues Notice and a form please complete the form and return it with your check for your dues. If you have an email address, please send us an email with your current information and preferred email address. NO! we will not give out your personal information nor your email address!

Shortly you will be receiving your 2002 DeSoto Lodge Calendar. Please take a minute to look at the events we have scheduled for 2002. Your Officers are trying hard to make this one of the best years in recent history. Give them a chance; come to your Lodge.
