A MESSAGE FROM...
OUR WORSHIPFUL MASTER...

Brethren,
Our Third Stated Meeting for 2002 was a good one.   We had 19 members present at the Stated Meeting which is a significant increase getting us even closer to our goal to have a 100% increase at the Stated Meetings by the end of the first quarter.   Our Committee Chairmen had positive reports for us and are rallying their volunteers for their specific cause.
I drew Brother Vernon L. McGhee's name from the Fish Bowl.   It was worth $150, however Brother McGhee was not present to win.   The $150 will roll over to the April Stated Meeting making the Fish Bowl Drawing worth $200.   In our Stated Meeting Dinner Drawing Brother Jim Pickens won the Grand Prize, which was a $50 Gift Certificate to Target.   Other drawing winners were Greg Howard, and Byron Wilkinson.   Our Grand Prize for the April 4th Stated Meeting Dinner Drawing will be a $50 Gift Certificate to the Home Depot.   Everyone present at the Stated Meeting was able to put another ticket in the box for the Grand Prize Drawing in December.   The more times you attend the Stated Meeting the more chances you will have to win.   Some people already have 3 tickets in the box and are increasing their odds of winning.
Your Officers are trying very hard to get things done and implemented at the Lodge to better maintain the Lodge and the Lodge funds.   Some of these Officers are putting in numerous hours of their own time to accomplish some of these tasks.   We are striving to implement a bookkeeping system that brethren will understand, that will make it easier to report to the IRS, allow us to see where all our funds are being spent and to make it easier to budget for the coming years.   If you have a skill or just some time that you can devote to the Lodge to help get these projects completed please let the Secretary or myself know.
Our Dinner Menu for the April Stated Meeting is Italian Night with an assortment of vegetables and deserts.   If you would like to participate and bring something, please contact the Junior Warden Dennis Pope.   If you cannot reach Brother Pope please call the Secretary or myself.

                                                                                Faternally,
                                                                                Tim Cook, WM

Quarterly Officers Meeting

The first Quarterly Officer's and Committee Chairman Meeting for 2002 will be held Wednesday, March 20 at 6:30 pm at Anderton's Restaurant located at 1901 Madison Avenue.   This will be our first chance to critique our progress for 2002, see what we have accomplished, what improvements we need to make, where we are lacking and address any unforeseen problems for the Lodge.

April Stated Meeting Dinner

Our Dinner Menu for next month is Italian Night with an assortment of vegetables and delicious deserts.   The Ladies of our Lodge are doing an outstanding job and there are never any leftovers.   The food has been just fantastic.   Please attend and see for yourself.   If you would like to participate and bring something, please contact the Junior Warden Dennis Pope at 483-6111 or our First Lady Mary Cook at 681-0858.

Valentine Dinner & Photos

Our Annual Valentine's Dinner was held on Saturday, February 9th and was a huge success.   We had a great turnout in which to honor our Outstanding Lady Wilma Clement.   Wilma has supported DeSoto Lodge and her husband Bob for over 50 years.   The Worshipful Master presented a plaque to our Outstanding Lady along with a large box of candy.

The photographs taken at the Valentine's Dinner are in and if you have not picked your photos up yet, just see the Secretary or Worshipful Master.
