At last I have gotten the chance to share some pictures which Diane will post.  The picture of the basketball post is the one that Hal made for Gruene Hall years back. 

 

You all have already heard how wonderful the show was.  Some other points.  Keith did sound check.  He sang "Too Many Memories" and he sounded pretty darn good!  Hal was in a great mood and chatted with everyone before and after the show.  Kevin Hall did a great job as the drummer and of course Kenny Grimes was awesome!  The ending with everyone on the stage was a sight to see.  Everyone singing "Small Town Saturday Night" - what a great ending to his show.  It was a  pleasure to meet Susanne, Melody and Mary Kay and of course to see Harold again.  Two years in a row now --- let's make it a third time - but with the rest of the crew next time!!  My friend Ellen from Virginia (which was her first Hal show) absolutely enjoyed it and looks forward to seeing him in and near her hometown.

 

 

Ellen and I as well took a tubing trip down the Guadalupe River on Sunday but at one point I lost her.  We were in two separate tubes but attached with a bungee cord so that we would not loose each other. I crashed into a tree and she spun around the tree. I thought she was on the other side but only her tube was and she was downstream without a tube. She had flipped over and the river took her. It took me awhile to release myself from the tree since the bungee cord was wrapped around the roots of the tree. Some kind fellows jumped into the water to help me but ended floating down the river themselves.  Somehow I finally got unleashed. I then tried to catch her on my way down but missed her and she was then upstream without a tube. Luckily she did not get hurt - but what a great laugh we had. It was one of these instances when you really had to be there!! I do though suggest whoever gets to Gruene Hall to definitely go tubing - it is way too much fun - just watch out for the trees!
