Hal looked real good, sang wonderful and I even got to talk to him for a minute or two. They gave a radio away just before Hal went on at Gruene Hall and I knew the answer to the question they asked, what was the first Record Company that Hal signed with, based in Germany? I said Lyon Record and won the Radio that will pick up 100 radio stations from space. It is a big Radio. Hal sang his regular set, then came back and sang Superman at Gruene Hall and Long way Down at the pier in Austin.

There is nothing like spending a day at Gruene Hall - Great music and people.  And what a show Hal put on!  He was unbelievable - what energy despite the heat. Stephen Bruton who opened for him joined him as well.
Hal played an extended version of  "The Unforgiven" so that he could give each of the guitar players room to stretch out. The place was packed.   Hal played for almost two hours and never seemed a bit tired.  Chris, Kenny and Keith were with Hal.  Haven't seen Keith for a while and definitely have missed him.  Got to finally meet Harold  (and his dog Sassy) - A true Hal fan there.
Next day at The Pier in Austin.  A little cooler than the day before.  The Pier is a great place for a show.  Very laid back.  Outdoors near a lake. Maren Morris opened for Hal - what a voice for a fourteen year old.  Hal was great as usual.  His encore was "Long Way Down" - what a treat!. Gina showed up for the show.   Hal played for one and a half hours.
Mary, Larry, Tom and Harold - let's do this again some time!  Skal!
