Albany -- Connecticut -- New
Jersey -- three shows in three days. As always, going to a show with
Mary and Larry is so much fun. It was also great to finally introduce Hal to
some of my friends who have never heard Hal's music/voice.
First show in Albany, NY. Opening act was Bob Warren, a friend of Hal
from Greenwich. He and Hal did 'Get Together' by the Youngbloods, and it was
great. Hal played barefooted once again. The Egg is a very
interesting building and a great place for a show. The place was
packed with friends and family, as Hal's hometown is Greenwich, NY.
New songs included 'Continental Good-bye' and 'Roll Back the Stone', which
was fantastic.
Second show in Danbury, CT. Venue much different than the day before.
A large dance hall with a restaurant, bar, a riding bull, etc. Crowd
was wonderful. People dancing as Hal played - line dancing to Long Way Down
- it's all good! Hal mingled with the crowd and lines formed to greet
him.
Third show in West Long Branch, NJ. Leone Russell's “ Caravan of Dreams!" at
the Pollak Auditorium. I have heard Hal in many venues but I have to
say that the acoustics here was totally awesome. As an encore Hal did
Trail of Tears a cappella and at the end did his bird call which I still
have goose bumps from. Standing ovations throughout the show.
For those who came to see Leon Russell I am sure they will be looking for
Hal to return to New Jersey. Hal definitely acquired some new fans
that evening!
Not only was Hal great but the band as well. Kenny gets hotter and
hotter each time. Johnny on drums, it sure does compliment Hal, and
thanks again for the drumsticks that you gave to my son! Here's to you
Keith, as I said before it is great to have you back with Hal. Love
your smiles!
As Thanksgiving is just around the corner I would like to wish you all and
your families a wonderful holiday and a special thanks to Hal and the band
for yet another wonderful memory! Keep those concerts coming in the
Northeast Coast!
