When reading this script, please generally pause two (2) seconds between lines.
Note that deep breaths may take more than five (5) seconds,
so please be flexible as needed and wait for all participants.

I need you to focus on my voice.
Listen to me.
For this short period, only listen to me.
"Your mind cannot distinguish between something real and something vividly imagined."
I want you to move all of your toes as you are, where you are.
Now move your ankles.
Now move your knees.
Now flex at your waist.
Now take a deep breath and exhale.  <pause 5 seconds>
Now rotate your neck.
Roll your eyes.
Smile.
Rotate your shoulders.
Flex your elbows.
Rotate your wrists.
Move your fingers.
Good.  <pause 5 seconds>
Now, having put electrical energy in your muscles throughout your body, I want you to go with this flow and relax.
Let all your muscles release this energy, so that your muscles fully loosen and become more comfortable as best as you can.
Take another deep breath, and as you exhale, say the word, "soma," and rapidly relax. <pause 5 seconds>

Now, pay close attention.
Relax your feet as best as you can.
Relax your legs as best as you can.
Don't think about your feet, but notice they'll continue to relax on their own.
Now take a deep breath and exhale.  <pause 5 seconds>
Relax your neck, back, chest and stomach muscles
Don't think about your legs, but notice they'll continue to relax on their own.
Relax your arms, letting all your muscles rest as best as possible, but notice they will continue to support you as needed.
Don't think about your neck, back, chest or stomach muscles, but notice they will continue to support you as needed.
Relax your hands, letting all your muscles rest as best as possible, but notice they will continue to support you as needed.
Don't think about your arms.
Relax your fingers, letting all your muscles rest as best as possible, but notice they will continue to support you as needed.
Don't think about your hands.
Notice that your feet feel better.
Don't think about your fingers.
Notice that your legs feel better.
Only hear my voice at this time.
Take a deep breath and exhale.  <pause 5 seconds>
Notice your neck, back, chest and stomach muscles feel really good.
I want you to imagine someplace far away from here where you could really sleep well. <pause 5 seconds>

I want you, in your mind's eye, to imagine the details that you take to get to sleep, such as getting undressed, pulling on your covers, getting warm, and, being really tired, letting yourself drift into a deep sleep. <pause 5 seconds>
Notice that your hands feel really good.
"Your mind cannot distinguish between something real and something vividly imagined."
I want you, in your mind's eye, to imagine yourself, for this brief period, finding that you can only hear my voice, and subsequently, you do not hear the war, you do not know the war, you do not fear the war, and you do not remember the war.<pause 5 seconds>
At this moment, I want you to totally relax, as rapidly as you can, as deeply as you can, as completely as you can.<pause 5 seconds>
You will only hear my voice.<pause 5 seconds>
I want you to learn to trigger a very deep sleep.  <pause 5 seconds>
You will now set a word to trigger this process to automatically happen for you when you have time to use it.
That word is "soma." <pause 5 seconds>
Whenever you have time for a little sleep, you will take a deep breath and exhale, then take a couple normal breaths, and after taking a second deep breath, when you exhale, you will say this word, "soma," and it will trigger this rapid sleep process, exactly as you remember it, exactly as you have now programmed it, exactly as you escaped reality so you get much needed rest and more. <pause 5 seconds>
I want you to rest deeply, and to allow this rest to feel like hours of sleep. <pause 5 seconds>
Take a deep breath and exhale. <pause 5 seconds>
Relax, sleeping deeply in your perfect bed in your imagination. <pause 5 seconds>
Relax, letting all your muscles rest as best as possible, but support you as needed. <pause 5 seconds>
Deeply relax. <pause 5 seconds>
You will now chose to filter out those distractions which do not matter, as you have been militarily trained.
You will not have to think about these things: they will just happen.
Now, you will find, when you awaken, while in this war situation, you will only hear those people and things that matter, so you can focus on your tasks. <pause 5 seconds>

In your mind's eye, you are imagining having had a full night's sleep, and you know that you feel very rested.
You feel energized and alert from having this rest.
You don't know why, but instantly, you find you are fully ready and mentally prepared to return to battle.
You find that as you awaken, you can hear all that you need to hear, not just my voice.
And you find that you awaken.
NOW!
