Four Man March

After moving from Corpus Christi to Austin, Four Man March has become one of the most enjoyable bands to go see, because, hey, they sound better that way. Four Man March is dead as far as I can tell. They apologize to everyone involved. John Yaklin, get in touch if you're out there. And I have a few copies left of their 7", if you want one e-mail and we'll do the price thing, which I probably can't do on the page without violating the terms of service for Geocities.

And well reviewed in HeartattaCk #19. Here's how the review goes:

FOUR MAN MARCH:The Luckiest Man On Earth7"
I wish I could distinguish this from the masses a little bit better so that you would know what a great record it was. Four Man March are speedy and driving in a fairly straight ahead way. The tempo is where they really shiime with interesting dynamics. the vocal work and recording contribute to the quality as well. This is the kind of record that should've had the big hole in the center of it. DF (Dan Fontaine)

This seven inch also reviewed by Maximumrocknroll (#185) - they got the title wrong:

FOUR MAN MARCH: A Short Line To Last Place EP
Another band that seems to have heard too many early '90s Ebullition releases. What you get here is angry, thrashy post-HC, with token emo/artsy parts seem to be thrown in at random. This stuff doesn't really move me. It sounds too self-conscious and forced. They do have great song titles though. BG (Brian Gathy)

And then re-reviewed by Maximumrocknroll (#189):

FOUR MAN MARCH-"The Luckiest Man on Earth" EP
Tight, intense powercore, with a bit of that quiet/loud dynamic. Hyper blasting in the fast parts and rythmic rocking in the verses. Melody exists but it's buried deep. BOB TILTON and DEAD AND GONE are two possible comparisons, but only as ingredients that contribute to the whole. This is a good record.AM (Alan McNaughton)

It also made the top tens of Alan McNaughton and the combined top ten of Jaqueline Prichard and Sean Sullivan in the same MRR issue (#189).

Also, Four Man March were mentioned in the column of Tom Hopkins in Maximumrocknroll #188:

FOUR MAN MARCH are on two releases this month. One is their own EP which would be of interest to anyone who might like to see what would happen to a blast beat fast core band if they decided to take it down a notch and experiment with more drawn out sections of their songs. In a way things almost come across as having that newer German emo-core sound.
FOUR MAN MARCH can also be found on a comp with NOT TODAY and RUXPIN (teddy ruxpin?). Extremely nice layout, creative without being slick. RUXPIN and FOUR MAN MARCH have a variation of the same basic style, which is not at all to say they sound the same. NOT TODAY have a smoother, more introverted approach and use a letter written to a band member as lyrics. I'd like to hear more from them.
Both records are available from 000 Records, 13709 Eaglenest Bay, Corpus Christi, TX 78418-6319 and FOUR MAN MARCH will be touring extensively December through February.

And the three way split was reviewed in HeartattaCk #20:

FOUR MAN MARCH/THE NOT TODAY/RUXPIN-3 way split 7"
The Not Today play melodic hardcore. Four Man March's 7" is sort of Heroin influenced, but the track here is more melodic, though it still has some sharp edges. Ruxpin finishes off with a somg called "Lazy Eye," which I hope is about someone with a lazy eye. But there is not lyric sheet and I can't make out all the lyrics. I liked all three bands, but a split 7" with one track from pretty much unknown bands ought to come with more information about the bands and definitely some lyrics. KM (Kent McClard)

As well as being reviewed in Diet Society #9 section of this website.
