One of the most common catches for recreational anglers fishing anywhere from the upper reachers of salt water rivers right out to the continental shelf.

DISTRIBUTION:
Central Queensland down to Eden on the NSW south coast, occasionally found as far south as Gippsland, Victoria.

EATING QUALITIES:
Black bream are a highly rated table fish, with tender white flesh.
