“Hey Tai, could you toss me some wood?” asked Matt. They had set up camp in a cave and were attempting to start a fire, to cook dinner. Since it was raining outside, the fire was also for heat.

“Sure. Hey Matt, have you noticed Izzy? He’s been staring at a blank computer screen for over an hour! I’m a little worried.” He started to giggle. “Maybe his brain now a pile of mush!” he burst out laughing. Matt couldn’t help himself. He started to laugh too.

“Quit it you two! My brain has not turned to mush!” Izzy said. He gave them both a dirty look, but then started to laugh. “Though, the thought of MY brain turning to mush is quite funny.” They all laughed.

“What are those silly boys laughing at?” asked Mimi. She and Sora were gathering fruit from one of the trees. They were hurrying so they could get in the cave and dry off.

“I don’t know!” said Sora.

“What?” replied Mimi. “I can’t hear you!”

“Never mind.” Said Sora under her breath.

Mimi stopped catching the fruit, which Sora was throwing down, and listened. Oh she loved the way Matt laughed. She breathed in deeply, and whispered “Oh I love you, Matt.” She closed her and pictured them dancing in the rain. Her daydream was interrupted when a piece of fruit hit her on the head. “Ow. That hurt.” She whimpered.

“Sorry Mimi.” Said Sora. She jumped out of the tree. “What were you thinking about?”

“Oh, um, uh, oh.” She muttered, “I was thinking about how this rain is ruining my hair.” She said quickly. Sora was her best friend, but she couldn’t tell her, about Matt. She just couldn’t.

“That’s our Mimi.” Said Sora smiling. She knew Mimi wasn’t thinking about her hair. She was thinking about Matt. Sora knew Mimi was in love with Matt. She somehow always caught her staring at him, all wide eyed and dreamy. The only thing Sora didn’t know was why Mimi wouldn’t tell her!

The two girls got to the cave and dropped the fruit on this huge leaf, Joe had found.

“Remind me again why we were the ones who had to collect the fruit. In the rain!” said Mimi. “Just look at my hair. It’s ruined.”

“Because. We got the fruit last time it rained.” Said Tai pointing to Matt.

“Well,” said Mimi, “If you get the fruit next time, I’d be ever so grateful.” She said in sweet voice. She got really close to Tai, nudging his shoulder, and looking into his eyes. “Pretty, please.”

Tai blushed a bright red and replied “Uh, o...kay.” His throat was dry, and his voice was raspy. Everyone started to laugh. Everyone, except Matt. He wanted to be Tai at that moment. To have Mimi stare into his eyes, those big, beautiful, amber eyes, looking right into his. Her voice was like heaven to him. He could sit all day and listen to it. He felt his face flush, realizing Mimi was looking at him.

“Matt, are you feeling all right? We all thought you’d be laughing the hardest right now.” Asked Mimi.

“I, uh, was just thinking on how I plan to top that one. It was great.” He laughed nervously. He doubled over to not look suspicious ‘Wow Matt, could that explanation have been any lamer?! She looked worried though, does that mean she likes me! God, what am I thinking. It’s obvious. She likes Tai.’

Tai had to think of something fast. He wouldn’t let Matt laugh at him.“Well Mimi, I’ll get the fruit for you next time, if you...” he whispered the rest in her ear. Mimi giggled. Tai looked at her with his soulful brown eyes. “Please.”

“Okay.” She said simply. Then she kissed him on the cheek. Tai blushed a little.

Matt felt a pang of jealousy run through his veins. He wanted to run over to Tai and start strangling him. If that would make Mimi stop caring about Tai, then he would do it. If he couldn’t have her, no one could. ‘What am I thinking?’ he yelled at himself. ‘Why Tai?! Haven’t you noticed me staring at you all this time?! Of course she hasn’t noticed me. She’s been staring at him.’

“Matt, something up?” asked Tai. “You look as if you’re going to blow up!” he snickered.

“No. I’m okay.” Said Matt. He then realized his fists were clenched and his eyes were squeezed shut. Hatred filled his voice. “You know what Ta...” he was cut off in mid sentence by Mimi’s screams.

“AAAHH!” she screamed, “What’s that?” She backed up and found herself having a death grip on Matt’s waist.

“ It’s lightening! It’s a lightening storm.” said Joe.

“It’s okay Mimi. Don’t be scared.” Said Matt. He stroked her hair. It smelled like wild vanilla and orange; it was really soft.

“Oh” she said realizing she was holding on to him. “I’m sorry Matt. I didn’t mean to...”

“It’s okay, don’t worry about it.” He finished. Several hours later, they managed to fall asleep, in spite of the loud booming going on outside. They decided to post guards. Every two hours they would switch. Matt went first.

“Tommy! We need to get to a shelter fast. The rain is really coming down!” cried Tina. She was trying to keep Tengimon dry, while pulling up her sweater’s hood. Her blonde hair was getting soaked.

“Look. A hospital!” yelled Mac.

‘Don’t worry Sinamon. We’ll be dry soon enough. We’re almost there!’ They all ran into the hospital, and Tommy walked up to the nearest nurse.

“You gotta help us! ” Said Tommy. “We’re lost and we don’t have a place to stay. Can we please stay her for now?”

“Oh course.” Said the nurse “Let me get you some blankets.”

“Hey, what’s that?” Tina asked Mac.

“It looks like lightening.” he replied.

“Hey Sora, I brought you a blanket. It’s getting cold.” Said Mimi. She walked over to where Sora was resting. It had taken her a few minutes because Sora was on the other side of the cave.

“Thanks.” She said as she took the blanket “Hey, Mimi,” Sora asked “what’s up with you and Tai?”

“Absolutely nothing!” Snapped Mimi. “How could you even think about Tai and me together?”

“Well you two put on quite a display tonight!” Sora retorted angrily.

“I don’t like Tai,” she said in defence. “I LOVE Ma...” she stopped. She didn’t want Sora to know, but something inside her told her to tell Sora. “I’m in love with Matt.”

“I know Mimi. I know.” She said.

“The problem is, Matt’s in love with you.” Mimi said. She started to cry. Sora hugged her.

“I don’t think so Mimi. You’re really lucky. You have one of the best guys in the world, pinning for you.”

“Sora...” Mimi began she was cut off by Sora.

“What did Tai whisper to you then?” Asked Sora.

Mimi giggled, and wiping away her tears. “He asked me to kiss his cheek, so he could make Matt jealous.” Sora and Mimi burst out laughing. Then the girls screamed. A blinding light crackled and exploded in the night air. It woke everyone up.

“What was that?”asked a groggy Matt. The scream had jolted him awake.

“What’s going on?” asked T.K. He was holding Patamon so tight, the little Digimon was running out of oxygen.

“I don’t know,” said Izzy “but I have a feeling we’re about to find out!”



All of a sudden, the light in the sky sucked them in. They all screamed.

Tommy walked outside. It had stopped raining, and he wanted to get a better view of the mysterious sounds he had heard.

“Hey Tommy, you better get inside, it’s getting cold out.” Said Mac.

“Yeah, in a minute. Oh my gosh, what’s that?!” he pointed at the light. They both looked up at the sky. They saw some figures coming straight for them.

“What the...” Mac didn’t get to finish his sentence because something fell on top of him.



All the Digimon landed some place really soft. Agumon, Biyomon, and Gomamon all landed in a lake; the others a tree. Even the Digidestined landed on soft surroundings. All except Mimi and Matt.

Matt looked up, and saw T.K, he was with Patamon in a tree, he then looked for Mimi.

She was on top of someone.

Mimi looked up. She saw the face of a boy she didn’t know. “Oh, I’m so sorry.” She blushed a deep red noticing she was probably crushing him.

“It’s okay, it’s not every day a beautiful girl likes you falls out of the sky.” Mac could barely get the words out of his mouth. “I’m Mac.” He said

“I’m Mimi.”

“That has to be the most beautiful name in the world.” He said. “Just like you.” Mimi smiled and turned red.

Matt stood up. He noticed Mimi just a little too cosy. That feeling of jealousy crept up him again. He moved over to where they were lying. “Mimi, you all right?” he wiped a bit of blood off his bottom lip.

“I’m fine.” She said promptly. She was still lying on Mac.

“Hi. I’m Mac.” He said wiggling his hand out from under Mimi, and held it up to Matt.

Matt shook it and said “Matt.” “Hey Mimi, aren’t you gonna go find Palmon?” He had to make up something to get Mimi away from Mac.

“Who’s Palmon?” asked Mac quizzically.

“She’s my Digimon. Do you want to help me look for her?” asked Mimi.

“Oh course. You don’t even have to ask.”

“Then let’s get going.” Mimi finally stood up, and Mac got up almost immediately.

“Oh no.” Said Mimi. “Your clothes are all muddy. Now I feel bad.”

“Don’t worry. I’m glad I broke your fall.” He lifted her face to meet his. “I would feel bad, if you got that cute outfit dirty. Pink is really your color. It brings out your gorgeous eyes.” Mimi blushed again. Mac held out his hand and Mimi took it.

At that moment all the Digidestined, Tommy and Tina came running toward Mimi, Matt, and Mac.

“Is everyone okay?” asked Tina.

The Nurse came outside “Everybody, get in quick so you can dry off.” Inside the hospital, Tommy introduced himself to his new friends. After everyone knew each other, they started asking questions.

“Who are they?” ask Tommy pointing to their Digimon.

“Their names are Palmon, Patamon, Gabumon, Agumon, Biyomon, Gomamon, and Tentomon. Who are they?” asked Joe as he pointed to Sinamon and Tengimon.

“They’re Sinamon and Tengimon. Where did you come from?” asked Tina.

“Oh, the Digiworld. Well, at least another part of the Digiworld.” Answered T.K. “We’re still in the Digiworld, aren’t we?”

“Yeah. I guess you’re on the other side of the Digiworld.”

“How long have you guys been here?” asked Matt.

“Well, Tommy and I have been here for almost two years. We met Mac about six months ago.” Said Tina.

Matt smiled. That was what he wanted to know. He didn’t trust Mac. He wasn’t sure if it was his jealousy, or his instincts, but he just didn’t trust him!

This continued for several hours. The whole time Mac looked at Mimi, and Mimi, looked at Mac. Matt looked at Mac with rage in his eyes.



After the meeting, Sora pulled Matt aside.“You know Matt. Green isn’t your best color.” Whispered Sora.

“Shut up. You have no clue what you’re talking about.” He whispered back.

“Oh really, tell me Matt, if you could, what would you do to Mac right now?”

“Besides kill him, I can’t think of any thing.” He answered. His voice sounded dead and heartless. Sora shivered. “Who does this guy think he is, huh? The second he eyes Mimi, he’s all over her. Hell, he could be dangerous for all we know!” he was almost yelling.

“Quiet down Matt!” Demanded Sora. “You wanna wake the whole district?”

“No.” He looked down at his shoes. “Sora, I... I love her.” He was just about to cry. “I love her with all my heart and now, some, stranger, is going to take her away from me.” He started to cry. Sora hugged him.

“Tell her. Tell her tonight, how you feel. It’s the only way you’ll have any chance of getting her. Fight for her.”

“I don’t think she wants to be fought over. I think she wants Mac.” He stifled a cry and dug his face into Sora’s shoulder.

“Matt, listen to me! Mimi cares about you. She really does! If she ever wanted you to fight, it’s right now!” Sora took his face in her hands. “Now go. Find Mimi. Tell her.”

“You’re right.” He said. Then he dried his eyes and walked away.



Mimi and Tina were waiting for Sora. Tina felt, this was her opportunity to ask Mimi a question, that had been stuck in her mind ever since they met.

“Hey Mimi.” Said Tina. “If you don’t mind me asking, are you and Mac a thing? I mean, I’ve seen Mac around girls before, but he acts totally different with you!”

Mimi giggled. “Tina, don’t tell him please, but I really like him. He’s really smart, and funny, and not to mention he’s really cute! Tina, you have to tell me everything you know about him!”

“Okay, here goes. Well he...” she suddenly stopped. Mimi turned around and saw Mac standing with a beautiful, pink and purple flower. “Oh, I have to go check on Sinamon, I’ll be back in a little bit.” She walked, (more like ran) out of the room.

“This is for you. It holds a small fraction of your beauty, but, I thought of you when I saw it.” He gently pulled on Mimi’s hand and placed the flower behind her ear. “There. I didn’t think it was plausible, but you look even more incredible.” Mimi blushed again. She found herself doing a lot of that since she met Mac.

“Do you want to take a walk down by the lake? It’s such a peaceful night.” She asked.

“Oh course. Your wish is my command.” He took her hand and lead her to the lake.

After a while they found this bolder to sit on. Mac took her by the waist, and gently lifted her up. He then jumped on.

“Wow. This has to be the most romantic spot on Earth.” Exclaimed Mimi. She took a deep breath. The flowers around them had a strong, yet spicy odour.

“Yeah, I know what you mean.” He scooted over near Mimi.

‘This can’t be happening.’ Thought Matt. He was looking for Mimi, when he saw he with Mac. He was watching them sitting on the huge rock. He had seen every move so far. Mac, casually, put his arm around Mimi’s shoulders. She placed her head on his shoulder. Matt clenched his teeth together. He started to breathe deeply, so he wouldn’t scream out.

He watched as Mac lifted her face to meet his, and then, kiss her. He saw Mimi kiss back. That’s what hurt him the most. At that moment a million hot daggers could have pierced his heart, and it still wouldn’t have hurt him as much. He clutched his chest. Tears rolled down his face and into his shirt. Then, he heard Mimi.

“Mac, listen. I really like you, but I can’t do this. I love somebody else. He might not care about me, but I still care about him. I’m sorry.” She jumped off the rock.

“Hey. It’s that guy, Matt right.” Mac sounded really angry. Mimi shook her head in agreement. “Nobody leaves me! Especially for some twirp, with messed up hair!” he grabbed Mimi’s hand and pulled her toward him.

“Let go of me!” She screamed.

“You think I’d let a hot little number like you get away?” Mac kissed her.

“Somebody help me!” screamed Mimi.

“Oh, good. I like ‘em feisty.” He kissed Mimi’s neck.

Matt was running faster than ever before when he was in a yelling distance from them he shouted “Let her go, you creep!”

“Oh look Mimi. Your knight in shining armour is here. Hey knighty, come save your damsel.” He shook Mimi really hard. She screamed out in pain.

“She asked you, to let her go!” he yelled out again.

“Good luck! You’ll have to fight me for her.” Yelled out Mac. Then, Mimi managed to get one of her hands free. She slapped Mac across the face. He then threw her against the bolder. She moaned in pain.

Matt’s eyes gleamed with anger. He ran and tackled Mac to the floor. He started to punch his face. “Don’t you ever, do that again!” yelled Matt.

Mac just laughed and pushed Matt off. ‘He’s a lot stronger than I anticipated. His love, gives him great strength. No matter though, I’ll get him.’ Thought Mac. “You know Matt. There’s no way you can beat me.” Said Mac cooly. “I’ll end up with Mimi, and there’s nothing you can do about it!” he laughed.

Mimi spoke. “Why on Earth would I want to be with you? You’re such a jerk!”

“Is that a fact, Mimi? Well, I’ve grown rather fond of you. You are an endless beauty, and you are strong. You and I could rule the Digiworld, side by side.” Said Mac. His voice had changed. It suddenly got deeper.. “I won’t take no for an answer. You will be mine. One way or another. Just make it easier on yourself, and come with me now.”

“What are you talking about Mac? You’re scaring me!” cried Mimi. She started to cry.

“I will show you, because, it hurts me, to see you cry. My love.” Mac started to glow. All of a sudden, he broke out of his skin and revealed his true form.

“Myotismon.” They both whispered.

The others had heard Mimi’s cries for help. They were running as fast as they could.

“You’re sure they’re at the lake Tina?” Joe had asked.

“Positive. I saw them walking toward it.” She replied back. They reached the lake to see Myotismon grab Mimi with one of his Crimson Lightening. She was kicking furiously to get out.

“Let her go Myotismon!” called out Tai.

“Oh good. The whole group is here.” Myotismon chuckled. “Hear me Digidestined. If you want Mimi returned to you, give me your tags and crests!” he bellowed out.

“Here.” Matt ripped his tag and crest off his neck, and held it up to Myotismon.

“No, Matt, don’t do it!” called Mimi.

“It doesn’t look, as if he has a choice, my dear.”

“Just let her go. Take me instead.” Matt said.

“Just as I thought. So, Matt. You care about her don’t you?” Matt looked as his feet and opened his mouth. Myotismon cut him off. “I said, DON’T YOU!” fury was growing in his eyes.

“Yes. Yes I care about her.”Matt yelled “Please, let her go.”

“I knew it!” Myotismon laughed. “She cares about you too.” He voice was filled with disgust. “But it’ll make this a lot more enjoyable. Just consider, your love for her, the cause of her demise! I guess I’ll have to do this the hard way.” Myotismon held her head back, and bit her neck. She cried out in pain. The only thing Matt could do was watch.

Mimi’s lifeless body was dropped to the ground. Matt ran over to her. He picked her up and hugged her close.

‘No. She can’t be dead. She just can’t be!’ Myotismon then levitated her body and threw it into the lake.

“Take a good look Matt. It’ll be the last time you see her.” A ball of red light formed in his hands. He threw it into the lake. The lake exploded right in front of him. Matt felt his legs buckle under him. He fell to the ground in shock. Myotismon just laughed and vanished.

TWO MONTHS LATER



The kids found themselves just wandering around. They couldn’t believe Mimi was gone. The only time Palmon stopped crying, was when she fell asleep. Matt wasn’t any better. He hadn’t said one word, in two months. He just walked around remembering the night like a bad horror movie, that played in slow motion. Mimi was bitten. He ran to her. Then came the part, he hated the most. Her body being thrown into the lake, and the explosion. He could hear the sound of the bomb hitting the water, then the deafening sound of the detonation. He had jumped in the lake, frantically searching for her. He stopped when Tai and Sora pulled him out. All he found was one of her gloves. He didn’t let it out of his sight. It was the only thing he had of hers.

“Matt. Listen.” Said Tai. “I know you’re really sad, about Mimi and all, but...”

“Really sad?” interrupted Matt. “Really sad. Tai it’s killing me. I loved her and that’s why he killed her. He killed her because of me...” He collapsed into Tai’s arms and started to cry. “I loved her. I loved her so much...”

Izzy was watching Matt. ‘He must feel horrible. We all feel bad, but that only a small percent, of what he’s feeling. Myotismon killed her because she loved someone else. He only loves the tags and...’ He stopped and yelled “Hey guys! She’s still alive! Mimi’s alive!”

Matt’s head jerked up. “What? She’s still alive!” for the first time in two months he felt better.

Everyone had gathered around Izzy. They were all shocked. “Myotismon, he wanted the tags and crests, right?” Everyone nodded. “But did any of you see him take Mimi’s crest or tag?”

“No! That means she’s out there somewhere! Myotismon couldn’t destroy a crest.” said Tommy, “We can still save her!”

“Let’s get going. If Mimi’s out there, I’m going to find her!” said Matt.



Meanwhile, in Myotismon’s lair, Myotismon and a mysterious figure are watching the kids.

“So, the Digidestined have figured out you’re still alive. Pity. I was having so much fun watching that boy suffer. It was better than Pay- Per- View.” He laughed maniacally.

“Yes, it is a pity.” Said Mimi, kissing him on the cheek. “Can I please go have a little fun with them, my Lord.”

“All right. You deserved it. Your little crest of sincerity will help my evil plans a tremendous amount.”

“Thank you, Lord.” Mimi walked past a mirror. She stopped and looked into it. Her long, wavy, pink dress, had turned into a tight, black, leather mini dress. She had leather boots that reached her knee, and had a high platform. She also had a little black mask, which covered her blood red eyes, and pure white skin. Her crest/ tag and Digivice were the only bright items she possessed. She liked the new her, a lot more then the old her. She would be eternally grateful to Myotismon, for changing her into a Digimon. She created a ball of energy, which opened into a portal. She walked in, and it shut behind her.



SOME HOURS LATER

“You’re not giving up now are you? We just started looking!” said Matt cheerfully.

“Matt, we’ve been looking for more than 10 hours!” complained T.K. “I’m tired.”

“Fine. You all get some rest. I’ll keep looking.” He smiled and ran off.

“I think the heat has gotten to Matt!” said Agumon.

Tina wiped her brow. “Yeah, it was cool about two hours ago, then BANG! Heat wave city.” They all laughed.

“That’s funny.” Said a voice.

“Mimi,” said Patamon. “Is that you?”

“Yep!” said Mimi, “but I kinda look a little different.”

“Don’t worry. We’re glad you’re here. Matt will be so excited!” said Gabumon. He smiled really wide and laughed “We’re finally back together!” His smile faded when he saw her.

“What happened to you?” asked Joe. His voice was trembling.

“What do you think happened to me? Joe.” She shot him with a stream of black light. He smashed into a near by tree.

“Joe!” screamed Gomamon. “Gomamon digivolved to Ikkakumon.”

“So Ikkakumon, take your best shot.” Taunted Mimi .

“I can’t do it.” Ikkakumon, de-digivolved into Gomamon. “I can’t hurt Mimi.” He said.

“Pathetic Digimon. You give us a bad name. Dark Heart.” She screamed. Her black light hit Gomamon.

“We might not be able to hurt you, but we can tie you up! Poison Ivy!” Cried Palmon. Her vines shot out and wrapped around Mimi. She was paralysed.

“Let go of me you wretched Digimon.” She screamed.

“Hey, what’s all this racket, I leave for 10 minutes, and you’re getting into troub...” Matt started to say. He saw Palmon’s vines wrapped around something. ‘What in the world is that?’ he thought as he started to run toward his friends.“What is that thing?” asked Matt, as he approached Biyomon.

“You’re not going to like this, Matt.”

“What is it Biyomon. Tell me!”

“It’s Mimi!” she said. She regretted telling Matt, when she saw his face go several shades lighter.

“Mimi...” his voice trailed off. “There’s no way that monster could be Mimi!” he cried out.

“Oh, she’s right. It’s me. Your sweet, innocent Mimi.” She laughed. “So, how do I look? I think Myotismon could have made me a little darker. I really don’t like white. It’s too bright. Don’t you think?” she smiled, and laughed.

Matt looked on in pure terror. “What did he do to you?” he was fighting back tears.

“I think it’s really obvious,” she said. “look at me Matt. I have a special attack, and I’m in my Ultimate stage. Can you guess what he turned me into? Common, give a guess.”

“How? How did he change you into a Digimon,” asked Tengimon. “People just don’t turn into Digimon!”

“Yeah, this must be a fake Mimi. Myotismon could have just made something that almost resembled her. She’s probably Juytomon.” Said Sinamon.

“Who’s Juytomon?” asked Tai.

“Well, Juytomon is a Digimon that can make himself into anything he wants. If Myotismon hired him, he look like a Digi- Mimi no problem!” Sinamon stated.

“Let me go! Oh, when I get out of these vines, you’ll all pay dearly.” Mimi kept wiggling.

“Maybe it would be better, if the Digimon that wants to kill us was, oh, say, chained up or unconscious!” yelled Joe.

“No. No one hurts her!” said Matt.

“Leave it to me,” said Tegimon “Fairy Powder.” When the attack hit Mimi she fell asleep.

. “Sinamon, do you know any way we can tell if this is Juytomon? He must have some weakness!” exclaimed Tentomon.

“He doesn’t like water. That’s why he never becomes anything aquatic.” Said Sinamon. “But, I don’t know if it’ll work.”

“Well, we could try. If it doesn’t work, we could always ask Gennai.” Said Izzy. Tina went with Sora, to get some water from the lake. The returned a few minutes later, with a filled bucket .



“Hurry up guys! Mimi’s starting to come to!” cried Joe. They ran up to her and doused her with the water. Mimi started to scream.

“AAAHHH! It burns! Get it off!”

“It worked!” cried Izzy. Then Mimi started to laugh.

“Do you fools really think I’m Juytomon? For the millionth time, it’s me!” she started to laugh even more.

“I guess it’s time for plan B.” said Izzy. He opened his laptop. Gennai appeared on the screen.

“Well, hello Izzy. What is it? Are you all right?” he asked.

“I’m fine, but Mimi isn’t.” Replied Izzy grimly.

“What do you mean? What happened to Mimi?”

“Well, Myotismon somehow transformed her into a Digimon!”

“I was scared of this.” Said Gennai. “ You see. You are probably the 5^th generation of the Digidestined. There was an old warning the council had. We initialised it to make sure none of the Digidestined fall in love, and forget the mission to save the worlds. My council had warned me of this, but I shrugged it off. None of you looked as if you were in love.” Said Gennai. His face looked worried. “You might not know it, but Mimi is very strong. Her crest, next to Tai’s, is the most powerful. If Myotismon figures out how to turn her crest into a weapon, you might have to destroy her. It would be the only way to save the Digiworld.”

“You mean, you did this to Mimi!” yelled Matt. “You turned her into a monster, then you expect us, to destroy her!” Matt was screaming. “Why did you do this Gennai, WHY!?” he was losing his temper, fast.

“First, we did this for your own protection. Mimi was changed into a Digimon for two reasons. 1) Myotismon needed a powerful crest. He couldn’t get Tai, so he went after Mimi. 2) Myotismon needed her. If she helps him battle, then there would be no way, the good would prevail over the evil. Would any of your Digimon hurt Mimi, even though she’s evil?” They all remember when Gomamon said he couldn’t hurt Mimi. Evil Digimon, or not, she was still their friend. “Second, I don’t expect you all to destroy Mimi. I expect Matt to do it.”

“WHAT!” they all gasped.

“Since Matt’s in love with Mimi, he has to stop her. It’s the only way to bring peace to the two worlds.”

“There’s no way I can hurt Mimi.” Said Matt.

“If you don’t do it, the council will. Trust me. You don’t want the council to take care of anything. I have to go.” With that, he left.

“Matt. Are you okay? It mustn’t be easy to here, you have to kill the one person, you love.” Asked Tommy.

“I can’t and won’t do it.” He said simply. “If the council wants to get her, they’ll have to get through me first.” He went over to Mimi. “I know the old Mimi is in there somewhere.” He whispered.

“You keep that hope alive.” She snapped back, “Face it Matt, you have to kill me.”

“No. I won’t.” He said as he stroked her hair. “The last thing I’d do is hurt you.”

“Too bad. I can’t say the same for you, Dark Heart.” She hit Matt. He flew back and hit the groung with a thump. “I’ve been untied for the last ten minutes. You humans are so stupid.” With that she disappeared. Matt struggled into an upright position. His stomach hurt so much. He couldn’t take the pain and just passed out.



“Matt. Hey, guys Matt’s awake!” yelled T.K. He smiled and hugged his brother’s shoulders. “I was worried about you. You were out for a long time.”

“How long have I been out T.K?”

He thought about it for a while and answered, “About 3 and a half days.” Matt jolted up. That had been a long time.

“Gennai contacted us again.” Said Izzy.

“I don’t want to hear what he has to say.” Matt replied bitterly.

“He told us the location of Myotismon’s lair. We were going to go inspect it, as soon as you woke up.” Izzy stated. “It’s not far from here. About 3 miles to your left.”

“Then let’s go. I don’t want the council to get to her.” Uttered Matt.

“Are you sure you’re up to it Matt? You were hit pretty badly.” Tommy asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Let’s get going.” Matt got up and started to walk. The others followed.

After they had been walking, for what seemed like an eternity they made it to this huge wall. “ Are you sure this is where the lair is? It looks like a wall, not a door.” said Tai leaning back. He fell right through the wall.

“A holographic wall. Just like the one in the pyramid!” exclaimed Joe.

“Tai, you okay?” asked Sora.

“Yeah, I’ll live.” He muttered. They walked in. They followed the flashing light on Izzy’s computer.

“Be thankful Mimi was still wearing her Digivice.” said Izzy. They were lead into a large room. They saw Myotismon sitting on a chair looking straight at them. Mimi was sitting on his lap.

“Finally, I was wondering when you’d get here. I was growing rather impatient.” Myotismon chuckled.

“We’re here to get Mimi back.” said Matt.

“And we’re here to destroy you.” All the Digidestined looked back to see Tommy and Tina. They were dressed exactly like Gennai.

“You guys are part of the council aren’t you.” Asked Tai.

“Yes. We were sent her to keep a close eye on you. We knew that ‘Mac’ was really Myotismon, but we were under strict orders to keep it a secret. We had hoped the elders were wrong, but they weren’t, sadly.” said Tommy.

“Now, we have to destroy Mimi, because you refused too.” Tina said.

“You wish you could destroy me.” Mimi got up and levitated over to where they were standing. She stood firmly on the ground waiting to attack.

“We will. One way or the other.” said Tommy. He threw this device on Gabumon. “Now Gabumon, digivolve.”

“Gabumon, digivolved to Garurumon.”

“How did he do that?” asked T.K. “I thought Matt was the only one, that could make Gaubmon change.”

“Garurumon, Howling Blaster.” said Tommy pointing to Mimi. Garurumon obeyed and shot out his attack.

“No!” cried out Matt. He ran in front of Mimi. He got a Howling Blaster right on the back. He fell to one knee, but he still stood in front of Mimi. Sora’s crest started the glow.

“What are you doing?” Mimi was looking at him.

“Protecting you.” He smiled a weak smile.

“Garurumon, another time.” Commanded Tommy. He shot out another Howling Blaster. It hit Matt again. He cried out in pain. A stream of pink light from Sora’s crest hit Matt. It made him scream.

“Stop it!” screamed Mimi. She hugged Matt tight. “You’re killing him!”

“Garurumon. Stop.” said Tina. “I knew it would work. Mimi is now back to her old self.”

“Impossible!” screamed Myotismon. “She is in my power. She obeys me.”

“Not any more.” said Tommy. “When Matt stepped in front of her, she remembered her love for him! Sora’s crest saved his life, because Mimi wanted him to live.”

“Then I have no use for her any more.” Myotismon waved his hand. Mimi’s skin and eyes returned to their original color, and the mask fell off. She clutched her head.

“Palmon, Digivolve!” screamed Mimi. “Get Myotismon for hurting Matt.”

Matt was looking at her. He smiled. “Nice to have you back. I thought you would have finished me off!” he laughed, then coughed. His stomach was burning. He now knew how Seadramon felt when he got a Howling Blaster in the face. Mimi grinned then fainted. Matt’s eyes fluttered shut. The last thing he saw was Mimi falling next to him.



Matt woke up. When he opened his eyes, he saw a blur of black, (that was next to him.) move. It was Mimi. She was still in her leather outfit.

“Hey, Matt.” Mimi was looking right at him. “What’s wrong?” she asked. “Why are you crying?”

He smiled as he wiped away one of his tears. “I thought I was going to lose you.” He whispered.

“You could never lose me Matt.” She said.

“I hope not. My life would mean nothing without you Mimi. I love you way too much...” his voice trailed off. He flushed a deep crimson. He looked up at the ceiling. He wasn’t sure what to do next.

“I love you too.” She said whispered. As she rolled over to kiss him on the cheek, he grabbed her face and pulled her into a deep, passionate kiss. She felt herself melting! He took his hand and slid it down her hair. She lifted her arms and wrapped them around his neck. Matt couldn’t feel his body. His hand dropped onto Mimi’s back. They slowly broke off the kiss. He breathed in deeply. ‘So, that’s what it’s like to kiss Mimi.’ He thought. “Wow...” was all he could say. He shut his eyes.



“Matt. Matt, are you awake?” asked Mimi. “You can go back inside now. It’s my turn to stand guard.” She laughed. “You fell asleep didn’t you?”

Matt looked up at her. She was decked out in pink, not black. He was leaning on a tree. ‘It was all a dream...’ he thought. ‘How could that have been a dream?’ he winced. ‘So, Mimi really doesn’t care about me.’ He felt like crying. He shoved his hands in his face, so she wouldn’t see the tears roll down his face.

“Matt, what’s wrong? Did I say something to upset you?” she was really worried.

Matt turned his back away in disgust. “Don’t look at me...” he said. His voice was filled with grief.

“Matt, I could never do that to you. I... I love you.”

He turned around and looked at her. He didn’t even think. He just reacted. He grabbed Mimi’s face and pulled it toward his. He kissed her. For real this time!

He had expected Mimi to slap him, but she didn’t. She kissed back. Tears were rolling down his face. He then realized the point to his dream. He was supposed to tell Mimi how he felt now. He didn’t want Mimi to be with another guy, or be taken away from him. He wanted her and him to stay the way they were, forever. Mimi broke off the kiss.

“What was that for?” she asked. Her head was spinning really fast.

“I love you too. Mimi, this might sound lame, but, I had this dream. You, were taken away from me and I couldn’t stand it. I did everything in my power to keep you safe, and I intend to do that for real. I couldn’t stand to see you hurt.” He looked up at her. She was crying. She threw her arms around him.

“Oh Matt. All this time I thought you didn’t care about me.” She was whispering.“I thought you didn’t care...”

Matt just kissed her again. He could’ve sworn the world was spinning around them. Or time had stood still, or something. He really didn’t care. He was kissing Mimi, and that was all that mattered.

“It’s best they think of it as a dream.” said Gennai.

“I agree.” said Tommy. “It all worked out in the end, though.”

“Yes. But who knows what could have happened if Matt hadn’t pulled through.” said Tina.

“We would have had to kill the love of his life.” said Gennai. “Make sure no one says a word of this to anyone. She can still be turned back into a Digimon. Remember, we only put up a barrier. It can be easily broken down. ”

“Thank the stars for alien technology.” Laughed Tommy. The all agreed and laughed in unison.
