If you could step into my head, tell me would you still know me.

"I'm sorry Matt. This isn't going to work out." said Mimi, collecting her coat and purse. She turned back to look at him. "I just don't know you anymore."

Matt could see the tear streaks running down her beautiful, face. "Mimi....." he managed to mumble. The shock of it all, was almost unbearable for him.

If you woke up in my bed, tell me then would you hold me.

Or would you simply let it lie, leaving me to wonder why?

"What did I do wrong?" he asked himself for the millionth time. He sat at his kitchen table, reliving that horrible break up, over and over again. 'I opened up to you Mimi. I showed you the real Yamato Ishida.' he told himself sadly, as he gripped his coffee cup even tighter. 'I guess that's what turned you away.'

I can't get you out of this head, I call mine.

Matt walked all over town. Everything he saw, reminded him more and more of Mimi. How they used to do everything together. Everything.

It just made him miss her even more. Right now, he was at the breaking point. The time when you're going to explode of grief and fury.

And I will say:

Oh no, I can't let you go, my little girl.

Because you're holding up my world, so I need you.

"I need you back." he decided one day. "You're my whole world Mimi. I need you with me, in order to function!"

Your imitation of my walk, and the perfect way you talk.

It's just a couple of the million thing, that I love about you.

So I need you.

Matt walked over to Mimi's favorite spot in the whole world. The park. He crossed the bumpy, rock covered bike path, and walked onto the soft green grass. The smell of the flowers made his head go dizzy, and the bright patches of colors, from the many trees, made him smile. He loved this place.

So I need you.

So I need you.

So I need you.

Matt then saw Mimi sitting under a tree, talking with some of her friends. They were all laughing and smiling at something, someone had said. Mimi was sitting right in front of him.

The chestnut and honey color hair he loved so much, was flowing over her shoulders, lightly swaying in the wind. She had a large, fuzzy white sweater pulled over an aperient pink dress.

Matt wanted to reach out, and touch her. He just needed to be with her, if only for a moment.

And if I jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge, tell me would you still follow me?

Suddenly, one of her friend's beeper went off, and everyone got up to leave. Mimi waved as they walked away.

'You never were a follower were you Mimi?' he reminded himself. That was one of the things that made her so unique, and special in his eyes.

And if I made you mad today, tell me would you still love me tomorrow? Please.

Matt walked over to her. "Mimi." he said softly.

She turned and looked into his deep azure eyes. "Matt." she gasped, as she stood up hastily. "What are you doing here?"

"Mimi," he started. He quickly cut himself off. 'Do you want to do this?' he asked himself. He already knew the answer, before he even asked the question. "Mimi, my whole life is a wreck without you. I need you! I.... I love you."

Or would you say that you don't care, and leave me standing here?

Like the fool who is drowning in dispar and screamin'.

Mimi stood shocked. She didn't even blink. She stated at him, not saying a word. Not moving at all. She then blinked, and looked at the ground.

"Say something." he begged, after what seemed like hours. "Please. Say anything."

"No. You don't love me. You can't love me." she said doubtfully, after a minute. He could tell it pained her just to say those two sentences.

Oh no, I can't let you go, my little girl.

Because you're holding up my world, so I need you.

"I do love you Mimi. You hold my world together. You give me a reason to keep breathing!" he said truthfully. He was shaking. He didn't want to show her, but he was nervous. Probably more nervous than he ever was, in his whole life.

'What if she doesn't feel the same way?' he said panicking. 'Please tell me you feel the same way!' he looked at her.

She was trembling. Her bottom lip was quivering, and tears had formed in her eyes. "The reason I broke up with you, was so that you wouldn't tell me this." she whispered.

Your imitation of my walk, and the perfect way you talk.

It's just a couple of the million thing, that I love about you.

"I didn't want you to tell me that!" she screamed at him, now in a rage. "Take it back!"

"I can't." he said heartbroken. "That's what I feel, deep inside me, and I can't keep ignoring it."

"Please Matt. Take it back." she begged him. "You don't know me."

"You're wrong." he managed to say without crying. "I know, and love everything about you. Every one of your habits. Became my habits the day you kissed me."

Mimi shook her head. She opened her mouth to say something in protest, but shut it, not being able to find any words.

So I need you.

So I need you.

So I need you.

So I need you.

"I need you Matt." she said after a while. "I just don't want to hurt you."

"I promise you. You could never hurt me." he said, walking over to her, and hugging her tight. "I love you Mimi."

"I love you too Matt." she spoke into his shoulder. "I love you so much."

Oh no, I can't let you go, my little girl.

Because you're holding up my world, so I need you.

Your imitation of my walk, and the perfect way you talk.

It's just a couple of the million thing, that I love about you.

Matt looked down at the girl in his arms. She had her head resting lightly on his chest, and was sleeping soundly. He stroked her soft hair, wondering what the future had in store for them.

"I'll always be right here." he told her sleeping form. "I need you way too much to let anything happen to us."

So I need you.

So I need you.

So I need you.

So I need you.
