The following are all forwarded to me
through either ICQ or E-mail. I have
no idea where they came from or who the
authors are. If anyone knows the author's
name to any please let me know so I can
            give them credit.

A friend is one you grow to love, trust, and honor
A friend is one who will treat you the same.
A friend is one who loves to share, even if it is a teddy bear
A friend is one to cheer you up, when your feeling down
A friend is one who makes you feel wanted
A friend is you my friend :-)
please pass this to your friend

May the world hug you today
            With its warmth, and love
Pray it whisper a joyful tune in your heart
And may the wind carry a voice
that tells you there is a friend
sitting in another corner of the world wishing you well !

            Every evening
as I'm laying here in bed
            This little prayer keeps running
            through my mortal head

God bless my mom and dad
            and bless my little child
and take care of my spouse
            when things start gettin wild....

and God there's one more thing
I wish that you could do
hope ya don't mind me askin'
but 'PLEASE' bless my 'puter too??

Now I know that it's not normal
            to bless a mother board
            but listen just a second
while I explain to you, "MY LORD"

you see, that little metal box
holds more than odds and ends.
            inside those small components
rest a hundred of my 'BEST FRIENDS'

Some it's true I've never seen
            and most I've never met
            we've never shaken hands
or shared a meal as yet...

I know for sure they like me
by the kindnesses that they give
and this little scrap of metal
is how I travel to where they live.

by faith is how I know them
much the same as I know you.
I share in what life brings them
            from that our friendship grew.

            'PLEASE' take an extra minute
            from your duties up above...
to bless this hunk of metal
that's filled with so much love.
            written by Tim

Thank you Tim, there are many of us who agree :-)

            I've seen the light...and it's in you
In everything you are...and in everything you do.
It's a perfect light that shines for all to see.
It radiates from you...and has pierced the heart of me.

The light is from a friend...
It's a light that keeps me warm
It lets me know how loved I am...
and keeps me safe from harm

To You my Friend I am thankful...
            In each and every way.
For you lift my spirits up with every passing day.
To know that you are there for me...
            It makes me feel alive
because it is your friendships light
            upon which my love thrives.

So Thank you isn't good enough...
they are the only words I know.
It is your light of friendship
that gives my world its glow

Thanks for sharing your light with me
for its the simple things in life
            that are truly unforgetable.

I dedicate this poem to all my friends

            TRUE FRIENDS

The true friends who we meet online are a very special kind.
They pierce your shields and see within the corners of your mind.
They're always there when you're in need with their power to discern.
They feel your pain......they offer hope and genuine concern.
We bare our souls, expose our hearts and show our inner fears.
And then before you know it the keyboard's stained with tears.
And if we could see them through that screen then no one could deny
That to be a TRUE online friend they too must surely cry.
            Thanks for being my friend!

Due to my computer crash I have lost the author to this one :-(

            FRIENDS WITHOUT FACES

We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens
We all have to wonder, what this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam, through the rooms in a maze
Looking for something or someone, as we sit in a daze.

We chat with each other, we type all our woes
Small groups we do form, and gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody, to type out our name
We want recognition, but it is always the same.

We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes flirt
In IM's we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships - but - why we don't know
But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow.

Why is it on screen, we can be so bold
Telling our secrets, that have never been told.
Why is it we share, the thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see, as though we were blind.

The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must
So we turn to the 'puter', and to those we can trust.

Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains
they are Friends Without Faces, and odd little names.
