Alexandra Tydings has publicly slated the season five Xena episode Married With Fishsticks. In a recent on-line chat, Tydings, who has a recurring role on Xena: Warrior Princess, as the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite, described the episode, in which she appeared as a mermaid, as "the most hated episode ever."
"I thought it was pretty silly," she told readers of the on-line German Xena fan club. "You know, I'm an actor, so I enjoy doing different things. So it was fun to me to play a mermaid. It was fun for me to have to learn how to do this new kind of accent. "But I definitely understand the fans," she noted of many viewers' negative reaction to the show. "I mean, I think when you turn on Xena you want to see medieval action show with powerful women. You want to see some fights. You want to see dark leather and swords and stuff like that. "You don't want to see purple and blue and torquoise and a set that looks like it's from the Flintstones!" |
