Born: June 7th, 1972, Wellington, New Zealand Karl Urban first started acting at the age of 8. His first role was on a New Zealand TV- show, but his early career was shortlived. He layed off acting until after High School. As he was about to attend Victory University he received an acting role in the New Zealand television show, "Shortland Street" from 1993 to 1994. Karl stayed busy early on doing odd jobs around his Aunt's farm. He is also known for his talent at riding horses which helped him land a spot on the show called "Riding High". A children show about horses. Other Information on Karl -For the role of Cupid, Karl must endure a makeup transformation that takes one to two hours to complete. -Karl now lives in Auckland, New Zealand and is single -His first role on television was at the age of 8 -Attended Victoria University for one year -Filmed the New Zealand drama "Shortland Street"..before he attended University -Karl had a number of roles in the theater in Wellington - Karl worked for many years on his Aunt and Uncles' farm doing odd jobs..from sheep shearing to pig wrestling -Karl enjoys horseback riding, surfing, and indoor rock climbing -According to those attending the Plano Xena Convention..Karl's favorite type of music is Alternative.A couple of his fave bands are Nirvana and Blur.
