Shax

Shax is my second whippet. He was bred by Sue Farebrother, and I was lucky enough to get this pup out of the first Poet x Fudge breeding. I knew and admired both dogs, both are fast and beautiful. When Shax was 11 months old, he broke his left front leg after a tumble during race practice. The leg eventually healed, and his racing career started up again, although a year later than what it should have! He has had a few other minor setbacks, but he has come back every time, and gives his all on the track.

Shax started racing at the 2006 WRA Nationals in Boswell, OK. He ended up finishing 14th out of 113 adults, and won the Poeta Trophy. The Poeta Trophy is given to the highest scoring FTE, in honor of Shax's sire, Poet. Poet won the 2002 WRA Nationals as an FTE at 13 months old.

9/11/07 3 years old

Shax finally finished his WRCh title in August 2007, winning the GLWRC 150 yard WRA meet. Shax finished in the top 20 at the WRA National Race meet, and was #8 in WRA in 2007, with a total of 17 National points.

In 2008 Shax won another WRA and also a NAWRA meet. At the WRA National meet, he finished in the top 20 again, and he finished the year earning 11 more WRA National Points.
