Landmarks include minimum, maximum, range, mode, median, and mean.
Minimum
the smallest value
Maximum
the largest value
Range
the difference between the maximum and minimum
Mode
the value or values that occur
most
often
Median
the middle value
Mean
the average of a set of numbers
Example:
Find the minimum, maximum, range, mode, median, and mean of the following numbers.
1    0    1    2    2    3    4    2    1    4    2
Minimum (smallest value) - 0
Maximum (largest value) - 4
Range (difference between biggest and smallest values) - 4
Mode (most often value/values) - 2
Median (middle value) - 0,1,1,1,2,
2
,2,2,3,4,4
Mean (average) 0 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 4 = 22
                   22 / 11 = 2. 2 is the mean.
