Attributes of a QB
Aside from the many physical Responsibilities there are also many non-physical demands on a quarterback. The QB is a natural leader, field general, and coach on the field. He must be able to lead his men, his fellow teammates, through the highs and the lows of the game. This is not an inherent trait of all quarterbacks. It must be earned through preparation. The QB must be physically, mentally, and emotionally responsible to his teammates. The quarterback earns his leadership role, physically, by:
- being the hardest worker on and off the field-
- finish first in all sprints
- be the first to volunteer for all drills
- be first to practice last to leave
- get in extra throwing work with recievers whenever possible
- be the hardest worker in the weight room
The quarterback earns his leadership role, menatally, by:
- flawlessly knowing every responsibility of every position for every play
- knowing the key for every play
- being able to read a defensive scheme
- being always mentally tough- ngunngu: never give up, never never give up
The quarterback earns his leadership role, emotionally, by:
- balancing the emotional bank account
- staying steady- never get too high on the highs or too low on the lows
- investing time and being there for your teammates

Qualities of Leadership
I believe leadership is the one essential characteristic of a QB. Nothing weakens a team more than a timid, passive leader. And leadership is an innate quality of the quarterback position. Here are some of the qualities of leadership:
- integrity- get the job done
- unequalled work ethic- be disciplined
- self starter
- confidence
- convey a spirit of hope to teammates
- convey a spirit of excitement to teammates
- Poise Under Pressure- P.U.P.
- build up the team
- lead by being a servant
stay poised
