Greetings from Russell's Remnant:
Again we turn to Master Morya for his axioms related to failure. One evening at Russell's class one student facetiously told Russell that Morya had told him to say "Hello" to Russell. Russell looked rather seriously at the young disciple and said, "The next time you see Morya, remind him that the last time he and I had a confrontation, I won." Ponder on this! The Teachers do not mind failure, but they do mind you making the same mistake twice. Do not say you're sorry to a Teacher, just don't do it again.
One cannot repeat mistakes. AY 365 For Us it makes no difference why, despite loyalty, something is not done. HIE 140 Insensitiveness to light does not depend upon the light itself, but lies in poor eyesight. BRO 232
He who dwells on the negligible will find himself on the path to nothingness. AUM 103 The crippling of "crippled souls" can only be done by oneself. BRO 56 A drowning man must assist his rescuer. AUM 225
There are many readers but few who carry out. FW2 253 There is little value in those who repeat the Teaching without applying it. AY 374 Usually the complaints of the validity of the Teaching come from those people who do not apply them. Make application before judging. AY 245
It is truly better not to be born than to multiply the abominations. FW1 157 A most heinous treason is to know the Teaching and not apply it. Slander of the teaching is worse than death of the spirit because by this act man exiles himself from cooperation and dooms himself to Saturn. AY 61 I repay a hundredfold, but what is lost retards one a hundredfold. MG2 23
It is one thing to hear, another to remember, a third to apply. AY 342 If you accept only half the advice, you will not receive the whole result. People like to extract part of the advice and afterwards complain about the unfulfillment of their hopes. AY 302 The best arrows so seldom reach their mark. MG2 62
Men have become spiritually bald. MG2 64 We have unlimited time for all kinds of degrading occupations, but we do not find an hour for the most vital. AY 282 One must distinguish between absolute devotion and conditional devotion. Most often people show absolute devotion while they receive. One should remember that the measure of devotion is the measure in the receiving. AY 55
Distrust is an enemy of the Teaching. It is astonishing to see how unable people are to cope with what is new to them. Their self-respect is so ineffectual; their imagination so impoverished. It is much easier to deny than to observe. Be destroyed, all who deny! Distrust nests upon refuse. How often is the acquisition of knowledge conditioned by material rewards. Kids under seven act in the same way. AY 247 Most heinous of people are those who cannot believe and know not the power of trust. AY 86 We value the valor of daring; but the cunning of mediocrity is disdained. AY 23
I visit miracles, but people do not perceive them. I provide new stars, but the light does not alter human thought. I sink countries, but human consciousness remains stilled. I erect mountains and Teachings of Truth, but people do not even turn their heads. I send war and pestilence, but even terror does not impel people to think. I offer knowledge, but people make gruel. I have no further signs to hold humanity from destruction. AY 159+ At times the dissipation of strength and time is equal to suicide. AY 116 Be cold to people with unhealthy emanations. The treatment with coldness will strengthen them sooner. AY 44
People would sooner fall downstairs than watch the steps. AY 35 Evolution shows human timidity. The date approaches when those who have not learned to swim must swallow their fill of the brine. It is necessary hurriedly to prepare the pilgrims to understand the Teaching. AY 37 The one who did not complete his assimilation of the Teaching is as an ass under a load of grain. A bruise upon the Teaching acts as a boomerang, smiting the inflicter. AY 16
