The primary function of the etheric body is to receive, assimilate and transmit prana. TCF 97+

The etheric body is the vehicle of prana. It stores up light and heat from the sun and transmits them, via the spleen, to all parts of the physical body. TCF 57

The aim of the physician should be to find out what is in the man's life which is preventing egoic energy from flooding every part of his being; to find out what lines of thought are being indulged in which are causing inertia of the will aspect; to ascertain what it is in the emotional body which is affecting the nervous system; and thus, obstructing the flow of energy; to discover what is the hindrance in the etheric body which is preventing the right flow of prana. Time is everything. We live in sequential time, but homeopathy lives in spiritual time. Spiritual time is similar to when you meditate; time becomes circular. This other time is when you talk about the essence. You get the data, so that you can perceive the essence. You use the data to perceive the person. You function in secular time so as to allow yourself to be in this other time.
