The major functions of the glands are as vitality generators. DON 133

Evolutionary impulses awaken the centers. The awakened centers determine the endocrine system which governs the nervous system and also the blood stream. EP1 326

The majority live below the diaphragm. Begin to live above the diaphragm. The pituitary body and the pineal gland are the higher correspondences of the male and female organs of physical reproduction. As these two centers contact each other's magnetic field, instantly the light flashes out (if thy eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light). Spirit and matter unite and the Christ is born. This is the second birth. "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." EP1 291

Etheric energy flowing through the centers helped create the endocrine glands and gradually began to have an effect upon the blood stream. Hence the words in the Bible that "the blood is the life." TEL 147

The soul works through the centers which control the glands. The glands, therefore, express fully the point in evolution of the man. Karma works through the glands. EH 623

Personality integration is achieved through: character building, soul contact through meditation, and life expression through service. A practice of these over a long period will inevitably produce a balanced glandular system. EH 326

The determining cause in man are the glands which express the point in evolution which the man has reached. EH 46

The human being is entirely conditioned by his instrument of expression and can express no more than his nervous system, brain and glands permit. EP1 5

The gauging of ability should be based upon an understanding of the ray types, on a comprehension of the condition of the glandular and physiological equipment, upon certain specific tests and upon the new form of astrology. ENA 51

By means of the organ of spiritual perception (pineal gland), man ascertains the will and purpose of the Ego. The third eye exists in etheric matter and consists of the Pituitary Body, the Pineal Gland, and the alta major center. TCF 965

The secret of all true meditation work in its earlier stages is the power to visualize. The visualizing of pictures is intended to focus the aspirant within the head at a point midway between the pituitary body and the pineal gland. DNA 89

When the ajna and head centers (externalized by the pineal gland and the pituitary body) become vibrant, alive and intensely active through service, meditation and right aspiration; a line of contact between them is set up with increasing potency. There is also another line of outgoing fiery power toward the top of the spinal column. Eventually the interplay is so powerful that a triangle of force (triangle of light - of living fire) appears within the radius of the magnetic field. The indication is that the disciple is now controlled by the subjective side of his nature. He is now governed by the Law of Magnetic Impulse; polar union has been brought about. EP2 116+

An impasse for aspirants occurs when the light in them remains undirected and the power remains unused and misapplied. Much of the physical blindness and poor sight (unless by accident) is due to the unrecognized and unused light of the head producing an effect upon the optic nerve. The light of the soul (localized in the pineal gland) works through the right eye (the organ of buddhi) while the light of the personality (localized in the pituitary body) functions through the left eye. The Master looks for the light in the head which is indicative of the functioning of the pineal gland (which is the seat of the soul and organ of spiritual perception.) It is the first gland stimulated upon soul contact and is brought about by meditation. TWM 183

Where there is no real use of creative force, there is apt to be thyroid difficulty. EP2 607

Much of the thyroid instability is caused by over-sensitivity of the solar plexus center or throat center or being focused astrally. EP2 315

The throat center is related to the 1st initiation (aspirants and probationary disciples) which signifies admission to the Path. It only comes into creative activity when the antahkarana has been built. This is related to the thyroid whose purpose is to balance the bodily equilibrium. It is connected to the Holy Ghost. EH 151+

The heart center is active after the 2nd initiation. The organ for the distribution of hierarchical energy (it is also the agent of the soul.) Thinking in the heart is possible only after high mental development. Feeling in the heart is often confused with thinking. This is related to the thymus gland. Overactive thymus produces the irresponsible and amoral person. It is the organ of fusion. EH 156

The center at the base of the spine supports all other centers. Related to the adrenal glands - it is roused by an act of will, directed by and controlled by the initiate. The external externalization is the antahkarana (antahkarana proper, the sutratma of life thread, and the creative thread.) The ida, pingala, and the sushumna paths - these 3 paths are the channels for electric fire, solar fire, and fire by friction. Related to the path of probation, path of discipleship - until 3rd initiation, path of initiation - after 3rd initiation: The kundalini fire is the union of these 3 fires and should only be raised by one who has left the 3rd initiation behind when the centers in the spine are unimpeded. The sacral center controls the sex life. It will remain powerful until 2/3 of humanity have taken initiations. Related to the gonads. EH 176
