T.N.G. SIGNS OF THE TIMES - N.M. September 7, 2002 3:11 GMT (#111)

Greetings from Russell's Remnant:                                                                                  www.oocities.org/dkone_us

Some comments on The Fourth Initiation found in the D.K. books:

Note:  D.K. suggested that there were 400-500 such initiates on the planet at the time of the publication of his books.

Vulcan is the ray or planet of isolation.  It governs the 4th initiation.  Christ kneeling beside the rock.   EA 392

At the 4th initiation, Mercury and Saturn again bring about great changes and unique revelation.   EA 71

At the 4th initiation, the intensity of the united fires results in the complete burning away of all barriers.   TCF 126

The spiritual life is full of paradoxes.  We set out to develop a sense of unity and oneness with all beings, yet we must learn the lessons of loneliness and of isolation.  A great "aloneness" is the supreme test of the 4th initiation.  DN2 759

4th degree initiates are the Custodians of the Plan.  Soul-infused personalities are the disciples and initiates of the first three initiations.   DN2 391

At the 4th initiation, man functions in the fourth plane (buddhic) and escapes the personality ring-pass-not.   TCF 114

Many unscrupulous teachers, particularly those swamis who come from India, pose as Holy Men and get the silly women of the occident into their clutches.  The oriental, unless he has attained the 4th or 5th initiation, has no true understanding of the occidental.  The Eastern Guru must take negatively polarized people and make them positive.  As a whole, the West is positive and need no such oriental training.  In the East, the will factor is absent (especially in India - this is why they make so little progress).   GLA 254+

The cardinal cross is shifted to at the 4th initiation.   RAI 693

The 4th initiation is the true "second death" - death to form altogether.   RAI 493

The Great Renunciation involves the rejection of the physical life at any cost, and that cost frequently involves its physical death.   RAI 354

A group can be composed of disciples and initiates of all degrees, though there must be at least one disciple who has taken the initiation of crucifixion.   RAI 224

At the 4th initiation, all is renounced - friends, money, reputation, character, standing in the world, family, and even life itself.   IHS 89

Before the 4th initiation, training is intensified and the accumulation of knowledge is unbelievably rapid.  The initiate has frequent access to occult books, and after the initiation he can contact his Master as well as higher Masters.   IHS 88+

The "shattering of the Temple of Solomon" takes place at the time of the 4th initiation.   EH 689

Where there is an unobstructed flow of soul through the seven centers, you have great health of the 4th degree initiate.   EH 539

The head center is the organ for distribution of monadic energy and is brought into effect after the 3rd initiation.  It reaches full use after the destruction of the causal body at the 4th initiation.  Its physical externalization is the pineal gland.  It is the organ of synthesis.   EH 145

Occultly speaking "an open mind" means free from glamour, the psychic and astral plane.  The astral body is by-passed before the 4th initiation, and the soul body before the 5th.   TEL 107

The "eye of the needle" is the Crucifixion (4th initiation) climaxing in the 5th initiation attaining monadic consciousness.   RAI 116.

At the 4th initiation, the mystery of polarity and the clue to the significance of sex is given to him.   IHS 172

The causal body (the Temple of Solomon) is shattered at the moment of the 4th initiation.  It is no longer required.   RAI 279

The soul and causal body no longer exist after the 4th initiation.  What is left is the Monad and the thread.   RAI 101

At the 4th initiation, with the initiate's own personal unimportant karma being adjusted, he can give his attention to the working off of planetary karma.  At the 6th initiation, he becomes a participant in solar and not merely planetary purposes.   IHS 122

A period of aloneness and of sorrow when no man stands by and isolation is the lot of the aspirant.  This comes to all and to the arhat (4th degree initiate) this complete isolation is a characteristic feature.  His vibration does not synchronize with others.  Under the law he is alone.   TWM 263

The 4th initiation is basically a monadic experience and results in the destruction of the soul or causal body establishing a direct contact with the monad via the antahkarana.   EH 518

The path of Accepted Discipleship is the path of spontaneous unconscious self-forgetfulness.  Not yet perfect, the 4th initiation still lies ahead; but their imperfections are not their major point of soul attack - world need is paramount in their consciousness.   DNA 689

The following statements on The Renunciation (the Fourth Initiation) are from Bridges by Aart Jurriaanse:

With the Fourth Initiation the initiate is at last brought face to face with his own Monad, his “Father in Heaven.”  As a result, the functions of that vague concept, the Soul, which for eons has served as the intermediary between the Monad and its instrument of manifestation in the three lower worlds, now becomes redundant.  The soul is consequently absorbed within the Monad and disappears as a separate entity.

The Fourth Initiate therefore is directly controlled by his Monad, by means of the “Bridge of Light” (the Antahkarana).  This personality or body of expression will therefore not be the product of physical procreation, but will be self-created by the Will and Purpose of the Monad, and it will thus not be subject to the normal laws of nature.  The body of manifestation will not in any way limit the initiate.  By means of the applied Will it can at any time and according to the requirements of circumstances be “dissolved” or made to fade away from human vision.

This disciple is still aware of the experiences gleaned from his numerous physical incarnations, but he has discarded all that proved insignificant, retaining only the essence which has been transmuted into wisdom.

Geoffrey Hodson commented on the The Crucifixion (the Fourth Initiation) in The Hidden Wisdom in the Holy Bible Volume 1:

The Fourth Portal opens before the dedicated and consecrated Soul.  It is symbolized by the betrayal, the trial, and the Crucifixion.  While passing through this lofty stage the initiate experiences a still deeper darkness and loneliness, when a gulf seems to open up between the Father and the Son, between life infinite and life embodied.  It is the bitterest of all ordeals, as portrayed by Christ’s passion on the Cross.  He seemed deserted by friends, and he saw his enemies exultant around him.  He drank the bitter draught (which is a symbol for the bitterness of defamation and betrayal).  The initiate cried, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

The Adept-to-be must learn, even in the agony of loneliness – indeed because of it – that he is the Eternal and the Eternal is himself.  Then he can say with full realization: “I and My Father are One.”  Thereafter, he remains beyond the possibility of any more falling under the illusion of separateness.  He now knows, and will forever know, that the life of God in all beings is one life.  Thus he is one with God, and through him with all that lives.  As far as earthly life, say those final words of the Christ upon the Cross: “It is finished” and “…Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.”

We're not here to be happy, but to suffer.

What is to give light must endure burning.
