T.N.G. SIGNS
OF THE TIMES - N.M. April 19,
2004 (#131)
Greetings from
Russell's Remnant: www.oocities.org/dkone_us
In the summer of 1976, Dr. Russell Whitesell – a
test pilot, concert violinist, a retired Episcopal priest, Occultist, Knower,
and international lecturer on esoteric philosophy began lecturing to an
audience in Metairie, LA. The first
words out of his mouth were the following:
“You people are fools. You think you live life. You don’t live life, life is living you –
and when it is ready to give you a new lesson, it gives it to you. If you think you control your life, you are
like a straw floating on the ocean thinking it controls the tides.”
*****
From that audience were planted the
seeds of what Russell called his Tuesday Night Group – the remnant. His disciples have taken those first words
and expanded them into other directives and axioms from many sources, which
support Dr. Whitesell’s opening comment.
The following comments may help to drive home the importance of the
statement above.
Planning is a
major glamour. Forego all plans.
To the
disciple naught occurs but what is in the Plan.
No plans for the day.
Proceed
knowing as an occult fact past your altering - a law immovable - that nothing
can happen but what is for the best.
Remain
unmoved till the right action arises by itself.
Your
conscious rejection isn't necessary, because there is a cosmic intelligence
that will direct you to your best service.
The cosmic intelligence takes care of everything. It puts you in certain places; and, when you
are finished there, puts you somewhere else.
Work
without attachment for you know not with exactitude what the goals are for you.
When the
disciple interiorly holds the right attitude (even if bewildered) the decision
is seldom his. Life, circumstances,
events or people take care of the situation and the disciple stands steady
until the problem or relationship disappears.
You don't live life. Life is living you.
One of the
deepest habitual patterns we have is to feel that now is not good enough.
Know that nature is already as
good as it can be.
Facilitate what is happening
rather than what you think ought to be happening.
Know that nature cannot be
influenced by prayer, logic or argument.
Teach by example, not by describing and pointing out differences.
The signs
of a man above the three Gunas: He
regards happiness and suffering alike, gold and mud and stone as of equal value
and that to him the pleasant and the unpleasant, praise and blame, honor and
insult, the faction of his friends and the faction of his enemies are equal
things. He is steadfast in a wise
imperturbable and immutable inner calm and quietude.
The best advice is to take it all
as if it had been your intention.
Each moment is a perfect
circle. When we penetrate into the
totality of the moment, we see that no point on that circle has any better
vantage for seeing the rest of the circle than any other point.
Real enlightenment is “being
whatever is there just the way it is.”
….. never
mind!
