T.N.G. SIGNS
OF THE TIMES - N.M. May 8,
2005 (#144)
Greetings from
Russell's Remnant: www.oocities.org/dkone_us
Received
on the Internet by a member of the TNG:
It seems that prayer still upsets some people. When Rev. Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the
Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what
they heard:
“Heavenly
Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your
direction and guidance. We know Your
Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have
done. We have lost our spiritual
equilibrium and reversed our values. We
confess we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and call it
pluralism.”
“We
have exploited the poor and called it lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it
choice. We have shot abortionists and
called it justifiable. We have
neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem. We have abused power and called it
politics. We have coveted our
neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it
freedom of expression. We have
ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it
enlightenment. Search us, Oh, God, and
know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!”
The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during
the prayer in protest… In six short
weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than
5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international
requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa, and Korea.
Commentator Paul Harvey aired
this prayer on his radio program, “The Rest of the Story,” and received
a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.
With the Lord’s help, may this
prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we
again can be called “one nation under God.”

In the
TNGNL #52, Master D.K. states: The
U.S. has corrupt politics and childish selfishness. The southern states are almost unbelievably
degenerated and deluded. The conflict
in the U.S. is between a love of freedom which amounts almost to
irresponsibility and license, and a growing humanitarian ideology which will
result in world service and non-separateness.
The American people believe that everything in the U.S. is better than
anything anywhere else. RAI 628+
The destiny of
humanity lies in the hands of the U.S.A., Great Britain, and Russia. As yet Russia is being retarded by
dictatorship, the States by corrupt politics, and Great Britain by ancient
imperialistic tendencies. DON 101
Three great countries hold the destiny of humanity in their
hands: The U.S.A., Great Britain and
Russia. Russia is retarded by a
dictatorship which will shortly end; corrupt politics in the States;
and ancient imperialistic tendencies in Great Britain. The
U.S. is learning the most slowly.

Maybe this
explains why the Kansas politicians walked out on this prayer. Maybe it was hitting too close to home. We need more statesmen rather than
politicians – statesmen who know the truth as well as speak the truth rather
than the party line.
