AWAY IN THE CORNER (To the tune of "Away in a Manger")

Away in the corner, with bottom bright red,
My naughty Miss Susie, she hangs down her head,
with tears in her eyes for she wants to go play
but naughty Miss Susie in corner must stay.
Her friends they are calling, she shivers and shakes;
she wants to go with them, so one step she takes:
"I love you, Miss Susie, but don't even try
You'll stand in that corner till I let you by!"
"You hear me, Miss Susie, in corner you'll stay,
for you were quite naughty and now you must pay."
"When ill-behaved children I find in my care
They're soon spanked and cornered with red bottoms bare."
