M24r2s2 original showed fret letter c (=2) as upper neighbor for trill. Use fret 3, of course. Tablature elements to be added by hand: Slurs. M30 r2s1. M32 r1s3, r3-4s5. M33 r1-2s1, r3s1. M34 r3-4s3. M35 r1-2s1. Take a moment to fill out the 16th-note beam. Strums: Arrowheads ^ and v indicate strums. Open strings in strummed chords were not shown in the tablature; add as many open strings as sound good. It's worth re-drawing the ^ arrowhead right at the top of the associated stem, just under the beam if a beam is present. Repeat path: repeat from m37 back to m18. Explanation of symbols: " = trill (starting on upper neighbor). , = mordent (main note to lower neighbor and back to the main note). . = do not strum this string in the chord. Octave doublings: To keep certain musical lines intact on the modern guitar, consider adding or substituting the next octave up. For example, see: m16r5, m32r5 and m34r2. Performance style: consider playing the piece inegales, that is, with dotted 8ths or "swing" 8ths (triplet feel). Leading measures in Campion's original tablature: 1 6 10 14 18 22 26 30 34. Last measure is 37. *** Download and edit out all material above and below the tablature. *** See my printing tips in the page, "General comments on the tablature." *** Print out starting with the title line below.
