Strums: Arrowheads ^ and v indicate strums. It's worth re-drawing the ^ 
  arrowhead right at the top of the associated stem.

Explanation of symbols: 
  " = trill (starting on upper neighbor). 
  , = mordent (main note to lower neighbor and back to the main note).
  . = do not strum this string in the chord. 

Octave doublings: To keep certain musical lines intact on the modern guitar, 
  consider adding or substituting the next octave up. For example, see:
  m1r3.

Performance style: consider playing the piece inegales, that is, with dotted 
  8ths or "swing" 8ths (triplet feel).

Leading measures in Campion's original tablature:
  1 5 8 12 16 19 23 26 30 32. Last measure is 34.
