It's not too likely any existing school system has the guts to grant anyone the autonomy necessary to actually make a definite, measurable improvement in a school's performance, but I leave this proposal out on the table in any case. You can't say nobody ever offered.

                     *** JOB OBJECTIVE/CALLING ***

Elementary education academic coach: to raise the overall performance of 
an elementary school, preferably one labeled "low-performing", by 
working continuously with all students, two at a time, in a particular 
grade, third, say.  Using the classroom curriculum as the starting 
point, the "coaching" sessions will also emphasize basic academic 
material required by a particular standardized test.  Will demonstrate 
the marked difference a single individual with a natural ability to 
connect with students and unencumbered by the administrative component 
of teaching can have on grades, standardized test scores and readiness 
for middle school.  Wish to pass on some my own talent for excelling at 
academics - not that that's all there is to life.  Click here for my

Dover Kumon Math & Reading Center: director, instructor, and franchisee. 

                       Late 1990s to early 2000s 

Prince George's County, Maryland, Public Schools: academic coach, 
one-on-one for special needs students. Began by volunteering for 
several years.  

                           Early to mid-1990s 

Personal business ventures: created a pop music game, published guitar 
music, etc.

                               1980-1989 

General Electric Space Division: computer programmer; programmer/analyst 
on satellite image processing projects.  

                               1978-1979 

Hittman Nuclear and Development Corporation: computer programmer.  

                              Summer 1977 

Arecibo Radio Astronomy Observatory: computer programmer/assistant 
during summer student program.
